Kobe Japan Restaurant - Livermore reviews
14Big place, get large table with large cooking area. Very delicious steak, lobster, shrimp, scallops and fried rice. Drinks avail
Great for sushi and/or Teppanyaki. One of our family's absolute favorites. Great food and service!
We often visit & enjoy sitting at the bar & watching their expertise of making our dinner. Always great food and services. The staff is Harmony in motion.
We had the teppenyaki. Stick with scallops and shrimp. The beef is over priced for the quality and cooking method.
I love this place a little expensive. But other then that it's a great atmosphere good food and show
Sashimi were huge chunks of chewy not too fresh fish. I am rarely disappointed in sushi but this was a miss. Definitely overpriced. Attentive service, though.
***WARNING CONSUMER ALERT***
Pleasant Hill location is charging for a filet mignon cut but providing a ribeye cut, it's the old bait and switch. I know my cuts as I have been a union butcher for over 30 years. Most customers do NOT know there cuts, and are paying a premium price for a lesser cut of meat. SHAME ON YOU KOBI JAPAN. YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING FROM YOUR DISTRIBUTORS AND RIPPING OFF THE PUBLIC. I have posted this on all public social media platforms in hopes that an investigation is opened on both your locations.
Was seated and waited for 30mins. No one even as much offered me a water. I finally just walked myself to the bar since I was starving. Slightly faster service there, but the ambiance was mehhh. Everything I ordered was drenched in a sweet sauce. This place has potential if they increase staff and improve service in the dining room and if they exercise some restraint on drowning all of the food in sweet sauce. It does seem like they put more energy and effort into the teppanyaki style dining on the left side of the restaurant and then only had one server for the entire right side / regular dining area of the restaurant. Not sure yet if I’d give this place a second try.
We just went there on Sunday evening. Ordered two appertizers plus one signature roll, one sashimi chirashi Dexlue. Starters was served pretty quick, but quality is really mediocre. Vegi Tempura was not crunchy. We then had to wait for another 25 minutes before sashimi and sushi roll. 14 piece sashimi was priced at $33 and the fish are so thin and they do not taste fresh. Service was also poor. I would not recommend this place
Solid sushi restaurant. Extensive Happy Hour Menu if you're looking to save a few bucks. Fast and friendly service.
It’s all about the experience. Average food, slightly on the expensive side, huge portions.
The portion of food is good. The price for a Japanese soda $5.25 … requesting for vegetables on the side and them telling me no side orders of vegetables are allowed but then it coming out with my dining mate’s dinner…
Good fun and a fun experience. They don't have a lot of options for sides, so if you are not interested in one or the other, they sort of pressure you (I don't eat mushrooms or shrimp, why do I HAVE to have one? It's a bit pricey but food is tasty.
Had a wonderful time. Chef was entertaining and creative. Well worth the money spent. Will definitely go again
