Kohler Pool Services & Supply, Encinitas CA

We get product cards in our mail all the time from Kohler. Even though they are out of my way I make it a point to do business first with a local smaller company because they are usually hard working and do their best to earn a living.

I have bought supplies at Kohler Encinitas for years and when my pool cleaner broke I wanted to see if it could be fixed or maybe a time for a new one. It was about 8 years old but cost over $1000 dollars.

The manufacture told me that they worked on this brand. I was not sure of the model but when I brought it in to Kohler Encinitas one of the first questions was where did you buy it. Hearing not from them the conversationed ended and you could tell they probably boycott other pool supply companies.

It is not a stretch to say I thought he was rude but he was.

It takes a few seconds to show good customer service. I was the only "would be" customer in the store at the time. So they were not busy. I really believe if they took a little time I might have bought a new one from them since after 8 years I might not want to put much into the repair.

I am sure they might do good for some customers but they did poorly with me therefore I do not recommend them.

The best way to earn people's business is try to help them and take a few seconds to show you care.

Leslie Pool Supply is just down the block, they have better prices and better customer service

We have used Kohler Pools for many years for supplies and installation of new equipment. We tried several different companies that were incompetent before finding Kohler. Kevin really knows his stuff and is friendly, honest and efficient. Alyssia in the store always greets me with a smile and has good advice on our pool maintenance. We highly recommend Kohler Pool for all your pool needs.

We’ve used Kohler for all of our pool needs for years, including pumps and a salt water system. We had a lighting problem, not a big job, and could not even get anyone to quote it. Kevin gave us a quote and handled it at a fair price and fast. We’ve used them ever since. We get great advice without “overselling” and great service. Kevin is always on time, honest about what needs to be done, and offers lots of help and detail when servicing. Alissa and the retail team are super friendly.

Purchased a property in RSF that previously used this vendor (so they were presumably familiar with the home). Pool was protected by a netting while we completed child safety enclosure but it still needed basic cleaning. They charged full price during that timeline despite the workload for their tech being minimal based on their service agreement. I maintain that the scope of service should have been reduced (since they say themselves the tech can only do so much with a netting in place) and the price should have been discounted to reflect that. Nonetheless, we stayed with them for convenience.

What they did reasonably well was install an aftermarket app-based control for the heater/pump to allow us to turn on the pool and spa remotely when away from home. As the relationship matured (or so we hoped), it became clear that the technical work was deteriorating; basic cleaning service on the pool became poorer in quality as time went on. We asked for some increased attention to these basic details and were instead dismissed as customers in lieu of improving their service. Kohler claims customer service is a priority but you can see from other reviews that the experience can be sadly mixed.

Number of unreported issues with our maintenance, including presence of algae in the filter and a leak. Very little attention to detail, much happier with our switch to a different company.

It's often time consuming to find a really good pool supply store. I'm happy that I found Kohler. They are nice and welcoming, they know they stuff and have been able to order some parts for the next day with lower cost than I would have been able to get online for next week. I have not had similar experience with other pool supply stores nearby.

We just walked up to ask a simple question. THINKING and HOPING they'd have simple knowledge. The person was so rude and unhelpful. Wouldn't even acknowledge the question unless we purchased it there. It was a simple question. Go elsewhere. Get better service.

I bought a pool vac from Koehler and could not get it to work properly. When I went by the store to ask about it, the owner volunteered to come to my house and fix it. He followed me home and made the fix. That’s the kind of customer service I like and don’t see that often. Kudos to Mark and to Koehler.

I work on my own pool so I need a shop that can correctly answer my questions. Kolher has knowledgeable people who have never steered me wrong. I have also used them for replacing my pool pump and fixing my pool lights.

Additionally during this time of crisis it was impressive that they offered gloves for all customers when they come in. It keeps their employees and customers a little safer. Thank you

I sprained my knee working for them, which forced me to work on a sprained knee, then got fired two weeks later. The irony here is that in my paperwork it tells me I'm not supposed to fill a pool/spa, but the workers tell me to ignore that and do it anyway so the customer is happy and the job is complete. They had me deliberately ignoring policy as well as making policy shifts as they go along. I educated myself for this job just to be dumped like trash. I hope you can find another place to take your business, but as I understand it, they have a foothold on the community and have for years.
