Koja Kitchen, Alameda CA

Well…can’t say if it’s good or bad food…stood there for a couple of minutes and no one waited on me…so I left

The workers are great, but the quality of food compared to the other kojas was less than subpar. The meat was mostly fatty pieces that were hard to chew. The bowls we got consisted mainly of rice instead of an even balance of the meat, salad and kimchi. The meat was definitely different, bigger pieces but less over all. Bummer: (the koja in Berkeley, on telegraph is great! I will continue to go there.

Good food, I don't like that overweight fruity guy who works in the morning, I take my order and he's all rushing me, for an example I asked for one beef koja and then he says "AnYThInG ElSe" in such a rush tone. He has no customer service and he looks like he doesn't like his job.

This Koja kitchen location is the worst one I’ve tried so far. The food is ok and it’s the servings are small.

I loved this place in the beginning. Then they got rid of their tacos, they’re always sold out of the crispy chicken bowl or pork belly bowl, the meat in the short rib bowl was dry. The rice is either dry or undercooked. So disappointing that the quality of their products are just going downhill. Please do something to improve.

We would come here more often if they were ever open as late as their website hours indicate. Tried to visit around 7: 30 PM tonight and already closed ‍️

It’s good super spicy beef bowl no joke. Wife loved the burger. Better parking on the target side of things.

I've try different pulled pork items (spicy and non spicy). They are both very good: tender meat, sauces are good. There's indoor seating and outdoor seating. Great place to grab a lunch!

This is always my first stop after leaving Oakland International Airport.

Koja kitchen is one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. This location does not live up to the reputation they’ve developed in the region. Make sure you arrive an hour or more before closing. Otherwise, they will be “closed” - which means while the doors are open, they are unable to produce ANY food because the friers are “down” and they’ve sold out of everything else.

It makes absolutely no sense to have the zen koja at the other locations and not have it at the Alameda location. There are vegans everywhere. We made a special trip to be totally disappointed. Ridiculous.

This place was good a couple years ago, but since the change, the menu has gone downhill. The quality of the food is so-so, the flavors are boring. I like Korean fusion, but whatever happened they should go back to how things were.

Normally like KoJa. They cancelled Zen. Got original. Very bad. Hardly any sauce. Over 50% of the beef in one of the two we bought was serious, hard, inedible grizzle. Very disappointed. Two stars rather than one on the theory that it was a fluke.: - (

We enjoyed the movie, but the most impressive thing was that the popcorn was buttered perfectly!

Such a great find! It's perfect for a quick bite. We have tried the following: chicken katsu/pork/short rib/beef bowls, and my favorite, the kamikaze fries. Everything has been delicious. I recommend trying this place at least for the fries. They occasionally get our orders wrong (one delicious item swapped for another), which is my only complaint.

Just dropped by for lunch, let's start from the beginning:
- the ordering process was pretty normal and smooth, the cashier guy had some problems with the receipt machine but it was all good in the end
- we ordered 3 things: short rib bowl, braised pork bowl, and the umami fries, it took about 15 min to be ready which was relatively quick since there were plenty of people before us in line
- the food itself was really good! The portions were pretty filling and worth it for the price, the seasoning and sauce was on point, we had no problems with any of the food.the braised pork was cooked really well and had a crispy outside.my favorite was the umami fries they were sooo good
- overall i would definitely come again!
