Dr Mebine has been taking great care of me for close to 20 years. Always providing professional & quality service from the entire staff. This particular visit I really enjoyed Dr. Mebine’s sense of humor & the experience buying my glasses.

I have been getting my eye care by Dr Mebine and his optical staff for over 15 years. The entire team including the doctor are professional, extremely knowledgeable and competent. I believe that they have been providing our neighborhood excellent service and care. They also offer beautiful frames and glasses as well as the state of art eye examination medical equipment using high technology with accuracy. Thank you for your service.

I've been seeing Dr. Mebine for many years. He and his staff are very professional and helpful in many ways – I highly recommend Dr. Mebine! I once experienced a torn retina and I was seen immediately and referred me to a specialist for emergency surgery. Dr. Mebine followed up after hours and is available by cell phone for emergencies when needed. I will continue to depend on his optometry practice for all my eye care needs.

I always get a very thorough exam here and follow up. And they are on top of scheduling me for my annual check ups.

Have been using their services for years. Every visit is a good experience. Dr. Mebine is skilled and they use the latest technology. Everyone on staff is nice and helpful. The frame selection is impressive and a staff person offers patient help in choosing one for your taste and face.

Pleasant doctor experience, but the WORST customer service experience ever after

This optometry shop is setting a trap to add extra service that I did not know and ask me to pay for a service that I do not need. And the lady called Angela Alvarez (Optician) was treating me supper rude, aggressive, and condescending, she didn't seem to think this is their fault, and said it is my problem to not check the cost through the insurance company before I receive the service.
This is how this starts.

I called the optometry shop to ask for an eye exam service, and a guy (I think is a new receptionist) answered the phone. I ask if they are accepting new patients. I specifically asked if I can get an eye exam here (just an eye exam) and he asked for my insurance information and booked an appointment for me, and asked if I wear contact lenses, I said yes, he asked me to wear my contact lenses and bring the glasses to the shop. At the end of the call, I asked if it just cost $10 COPAY for the exam, and he responded YES.

I went to the optometry shop and get the exam, Dr. L. Bruce is a very nice and professional doctor, and I have a pleasant experience with the exam. Also decided to buy glasses there, Marc Milechman, an optician, is awesome as well, he clearly explained the prices of each premium I want with my glasses and the frame selection experience went really well too. Afterward, when I needed to pay for the exam and glasses, I was then told I need to pay $60 for the contact lenses exam that I did not even know I had, I even asked which part of it is the contact lenses exam? The guy asked me to wear the contact lenses and bring the glasses did not tell me about that, I swear I did not want to take the contact lenses exam as I did not intend to buy any contact lenses (I don't wear them often, less than 30 times per year, still got more than 60 pairs available in my home). But they said I did receive the service, and I was in a rush to a work meeting, so I paid the cost at that time and left the shop shortly.

I called the shop on the same day I got the exam and asked about the contact lenses exam cost, another receptionist (a chubby lady, don't remember her name), explained the situation that they were training a new receptionist, it may be his mistake on telling the cost, but they can't do anything about that as I have received the service. I am not happy about this result so I asked about it again in person when my glasses are ready.

Here comes the RUDEST person I meet, she is Angela Alvarez (Optician), she is supper rude, aggressive, and condescending, she didn't seem to think this is their fault, and said it is my problem to not check the cost through the insurance company before I receive the service. Just provided the insurance company customer service phone number for me to follow up on this issue. She spoke with a very rude voice and seems like she was scolding me, I was very wronged and angry about this, because of her attitude, I cried after I left the shop. She treated me like trash and have no compassion or understanding. This experience is totally due to their mistake, the new receptionist does not seem to understand the pricing clearly, and I received NO apology from this shop, instead, Angela declined their fault and scold me.

Extremely disappointed with this shop, no matter how good the doctor (Dr. L. Bruce) and the other Optician (Marc Milechman) are, I will never visit this shop again.

Now that I looked into the comments, it seems like since 2009, there are already bad comments for Angela Alvarez (Optician), all complaints about this optometry shop have included her bad customer service and how rude she is, I don't understand why she is still here after 14 yrs, she will just turn down all the old customers and new customers, no wonder I can schedule an appointment so quickly, all customers should be leaving after interacted with her. Literally, I can even schedule a next-day appointment, while another shop that is 15 mins walking distance from this shop had full appointments until 2 months later.

Dr. Mebine was great! Very personable and caring. Staff demonstrated great customer service and respect for clients. Nice work everyone!
