L & G Vietnamese Sandwich reviews
16 My go-to is the no meat banh mi with extra jalapenos and cilantro.
Only $4 bucks which is unheard-of nowadays.
Tiny hole in the wall banh mi and noodle soup spot in SF's Little Saigon. Vèry friendly service and extremely good VFM on the banh mi prices.
The broiled pork, BBQ pork, and sticky rice were incredible - this place is a new favorite for sure. Everything was flavorful and well balanced with the pickles and vegetables.
There are a few Vietnamese sandwich shops in this part of the Tenderloin, however, this one is one of the best. The sandwiches are simple, classic & authentic style with good ingredients. The staff is friendly & the wait times are never long.
I live their sticky rice - the right portion for a light lunch with an unbeatable price tag of $5 (tax included) =. The owner and her husband being super laidback and friendly is definitely an awesome bonus. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are looking for a low-budget authentic Vietnamese food (sandwiches, too!)
My favorite bahn mi in the city. Friendly and prompt service. It’s worth stopping by for one of the last bastions of cheap eats in the city.
Really good and great value for money! I got the marinated tofu banh mi and the pork banh mi and both were really great and flavourful! ^-^ The owners were super friendly and the sandwiches slapped!
I had the BBQ Beef and BBQ Chicken Vietnamese sandwiches. The beef sandwich is decent, and I gave it 3.5 stars. The chicken wasn't good - dry, not tasty - and I gave it 2.5 stars. The bright spot is that the price at $6 per sandwich is slightly below average for San Francisco.
My favorite Vietnamese sandwich shop in San Francisco is still TY Sandwich on Mission, and my favorite in the Bay Area is Duc Huong Sandwiches in San Jose (Story Street location).
L&G is the epitome of what a hole in the wall restaurant is. There are three seats on the window counter and three seats right when you walk in. The window counter seats were already taken so I took my sandwiches to go. They make good sandwiches here. Today I had the combo $5.50 and a meatball $5 sandwich. Surprise! There are no whole meatballs in the meatball sandwich but rather spread across the length of the sandwich. This is my favorite. Their combo is not bad either. Service was excellent. It took about 10 minutes for them to make my sandwiches.
Great sandwich! My only advice is if you are ordering ahead use Grubhub or a bigger platform. The delivery on their website didn’t go through, so when I arrived she didn’t know about the order. Very kind and helpful about it though! Cute spot
The only reason I come to the TL are for these sandwiches. And I’ll happily do so - they are the best in SF!
One of the better banh mi’s in San Francisco. It’s better than Saigon Sandwich in my opinion. Feels lighter and has more flavor overall. More authentic and closer to what you’d get in Vietnam
Delicious bbq pork sandwich. Light and flavorful. The flan was also very tasty. A great woman owned business!
One of the only Banh Mi places that has a Chipotle Pulled Pork one. Sooooo good and great prices. It's never as crowded at Saigon Sandwich and they're jalapeños are fire too!
Yummy broiled pork sandwich! Deliciously juicy and well flavored. Kind of cinnamony. Friendly people too.
This place was delicious. The pork Bahn mi was so tasty I really wish I had ordered two. The ladies helping out were very nice. The price for a sandwich this good is tough to beat in the area.
