L & L Hawaiian Barbecue reviews
20Terrible food, SERVICE (especially) and atmosphere. You guys need some help, if someone comes it to spend their money and try your food, we should be treated with a little respect.
Customer service so bad You guys need better people working the front Because this is not how you treat customer by yelling on them on the phone to know where they are your location
Staff is quick, efficient, and straight to the point, always appreciate it when i’m in a pinch! Food is average but will always hit the spot.
Food was just alright this time. The chicken in my plate was dry and left on the hot plate too long. For the price they charge, I would've liked to have eaten chicken that wasn't so tough.
Had bbq beef before from this location (la jolla), was pretty good, just hard to separate meat from bone. Second time I had bbq chicken and my friend had loco moco. Both were very dry, and apparently sauce is not provided for free for the bbq chicken even though it's completely necessary considering how dry/hard it was. I much liked it at another location, cupertino, where it was cheaper and sauce was provided. Oh, and the spam musubi was good but it's like a sliver of spam and a huge chunk of rice which is funny in a bad way.
Sooo delicious
Especially the BBQ mix
It reminds me the flavor of my hometown ;)
This was great haven't had it in a long time it was truly missed I had the BBQ combo and the spam musubi so gooooood!
The best Katsu I have had in a while since I graduated 7 years ago. Nothing really changed other than the price went up by tiny bit. Same recipes and still one fav dinner stop before 9 pm for many students who live nearby
I got a BBQ Mix and the order was correct and the service was nice but the meat was very bland compared to other locations i’ve been to. I would definitely recommend going to a different location if you want your money’s worth
My combo plate was just meat and cabbage. The meat was good but I paid 15 bucks all I got was cabbage as a side.
The front end people are very friendly and the food is really tasty. I loved the chicken teriyaki bowl. It is a bit more expensive than other nearby eateries. Bit overall quite good.
I asked the person at the counter before buying the soupy noodles whether the broth in the soup is made of a particular meat. The person says it's made from chicken. I bought and ate it at the restaurant and while leaving the person tells me actually it was made from particular meat. The person was pretty rude and nonchalant when I asked why didn't he confirm before
I went on my lunch break to try their food and literally I trash all of it. The worst quality of food ever.nasty and very greasy…. The worst $16 i have ever spent
Order was placed online and I came in to pick it up when they said it was ready. Person at the counter said the online orders are not being sent to them so they had to type in the order manually to prepare it. Epic fail — never coming here again.
What a joke. This is not a meal. It is individual items packed together in a box. Salad is not even mixed, most of the non-lettuce vegetables are on the bottom. Why is meat tossed ON the salad? The food quality and flavor is meh (if its done in 3 min, you can bet it is most certainly not freshly made) and comparable to the chain restaurants on campus, and worth, at best, maybe $6. Avoid at all cost. Overpriced af.
A week ago I have a issue with my order the owner contacted me in a very timely manner. He apologized and offered to help me. And he did, I went back today the issue was resolved and the food was amazing. Keep up the great work guys. Food was fresh and tasty. Will definitely come back.
This is my go to take out. Their BBQ is soooooo good try the short rib you won't be sorry.
Sub-par compared to all other L&L locations I've been to from LA to SD. First and last time here for me. There's only one way to mess up a spam musubi.skimp on the spam. This musubi had the thinnest slice of spam I've ever seen on a musubi. The BBQ mix plate tiny. Seafood plate tiny. A LOT of rice though if you like that (it's also the best way for them to save money and increase their margins probably). The L&L in ranch penasquitos is far superior.
Edit: I tried eating it and now its even worse than my initial impression. Not sub-par. The WORST L&L. I spit out the galbi - just gross. Good thing for them that corporate doesn't care about one store.
Good food to go, never too busy, and decent variety, not much else you could ask for from a chain. Won't fine much in the way of vegetables, mostly meat and carbs
