La China Restaurant reviews
16The ambiance was bland, the service unattentive (server not in the room (small room) for lengths of time; food was rather generic and not something noteable. I'd rather drive just a couple miles further for a better experience.
I’m the president of the USC Triathlon team. For a race in the local area, we brought 16 people here on a Saturday night, and the staff treated us all so nicely and politely. Not only was the service great, but also the food was amazing. The staff was able to accomodate all of the team’s dietary needs and restrictions. So glad we brought the team here!
Was back in town for family Christmas and couldn’t wait to have the BEST Chinese food. Hands down… We’ve lived in North Carolina, Texas, California and Japan for the BEST Chinese food we come to La China in the little community of Fletcher Hills, San Diego, California. You want good tasting food without the celery filler? This is the place. We ordered crispy beef, cashew chicken, shrimp with snow peas, Saigon noodles fried rice and steamed rice, all so good and each taste unique. NO fillers here!
I go here quite often. The service is great. The food is reasonably priced. Don't have to wait for your food very long and they have a lot of items on the menu to choose from.
I use to come here so the time but one day i asked for a cup of ice and she told me that well she has to charge me $0.50 and I said that's fine so as soon as I get home I see that they charged me for the price of a drink if that's the case why didn't they just tell me that and just give me a drink instead of charging me regular price her dream just to get ice. I was pretty shocked but it's fine just won't take my business there other places give out free cups of water or ice but they charge me for regular drink just for ice
Was here Dec. 2021 and the 5 different dishes we had were very good! Returned this Dec. 2022 and we were very disappointed. We are sad to have to say that all three entrees were disappointing.
Shrimp in our fried rice had a funky texture to them. Smell was slightly off. As far as entire experience goes, it’s ok, nothing to brag about. Very rushed and straight forward ordering. Not bad overall food but there are better options elsewhere.
Been going here off and on for 6 years - their hot and sour soup and stir fried udon noodles is always delicious. I love their customer service, always friendly, fast, and catering to your requests. A hidden treasure restaurant!
Ordered the chicken kung pao to go on 9/5/22. The chicken was over cooked and the sauce was bitter and tasted burnt. Plenty of onion skin in it too. The dish is just chicken onion and peanuts, no hint of garlic or ginger or bell pepper. The onions were inconsistent sizes and undercooked. Once again, can’t stress enough how bad the sauce is. Will not be coming back and would not recommend.
So darn disappointing when you spend hard earned money on substandard food. The salt and pepper wings aren’t even close. Too much breading, oily, and no salt or pepper taste at all. The BBQ ribs are dry, oh so dry, and no taste. We are here about 10-12 years ago and decided to give it a second chance. Well, never ever again.
I have been holding off on writing a review for this "best-kept secret" here in our neighborhood. Just because we would hate for it to become TOO popular. But I have to give credit where it's due. The staff kept up with demanding customers all throughout the Covid pandemic with take-out food. Now it's back open to indoor dining once again. The food is very tasty. We love the pan-fried noodles and whatever the fresh vegetable of the day is. They have lunch specials that are good. The won ton soup is really yummy. Kudos to Joyce who always greets us with a smile.
I got the Salt and Pepper wings. I’m not sure about the other menu items but these wings are so NASTY. I got 2 orders thinking they would be good but just lost $17. The salt and pepper seasoning is burned to a crisp and looks like burnt crust from the skillet that the cook scraped and put over the chicken in the plate. The chicken skin tastes sweet like they used the same batter from the sweet and sour chicken to fry it in. This is the only menu item I’ve tried as this was my first visit and I will not be going back. If you can’t fry chicken then you can’t cook anything.
Good food. Nice people. But I would like to see their dinning area and front reception area cleand up. Feels like your eating in storage area.
Ordered the pineapple chicken plate to go for $10.95 tonight and there was barley any chicken. Mostly pineapple, bell pepper, onion all watered down. Chicken didn’t even look cooked all the way. Not coming here again! Panda Express is better and cheaper.
This place is good but they’re incredibly rude I just came in to pick up an order and was standing there for a while patiently waiting for the girl to help me but she was on her phone and distracted with the show she was watching. So then I had to use the restroom so I stepped away for a moment to go in the bathroom when I came back out only a few moments later this hostile guy was there questioning me why I was using the restroom and saying can I help you it was so rude and you should never treat customers like this I come to this place all the time but they didn’t even know who I was or that I order that I order there very frequently even though I come in three times a week. I really like this place and have always receive good food but this was unacceptable and I won’t be back.
They have daily lunch specials! Moo Shi vegetables w/ extra egg instead of meat is my favorite.it has shredded snow peas & mushrooms! Crispy beef w/ orange sauce and plain fried rice are good. Teriyaki chicken was ok.
