LA CREPE (crepes, desserts, matcha drinks and Ice cream) reviews
14The soft serve ice cream was really good. The matcha is not too sweet and is slightly bitter; really good flavor. The strawberry soft serve ice cream is a good match with the matcha if you want to do two flavors. We also ordered the lemon curd crepe with strawberry topping. Very good, fresh strawberries, and the crepe was cooked perfectly.
Had the matcha strawberry soft serve. Creamy, smooth, and perfectly sweeten! Highly recommend!
Really hard for us to find it
Taste good
-I like both flavors
-my husband like the matcha more
The owners are friendly, and the ice cream has rich sweetness flavor with a side of delicious espresso coffee.
Taste good, the only issue is why two workers need to take 5 mins to make just one simple drink when I was the only customer there.
It was quite a wonderful matcha soft serve. Probably made with the Nishio matcha strain. A little less sweetness would make it even better.
Looking for dessert? ! If you're screaming for ice cream then FENTONS is the spot for you! Located in a nice location but parking lot is very small.
I have spent a lot of time traveling in Japan, where it seems a delicious maatcha soft serve is never more than 10 minutes away. I find myself craving it in the states but haven't really found a place I loved - until now! A lot of matcha soft serve around LA is extremely sweet and the umami of the matcha is lost, but not at Matcha Cha. The beautiful umami flavor really comes through and it is perfectly creamy.
In terms of toppings, the matcha sauce is a nice complement, but the mochi may have actually been the star of the show here, even over the ice cream. O. M. G. SO soft and chewy, it is like you are chewing on a cloud. I don't know how else to describe it. I have only had mochi like this in Japan, where it was made right before my eyes, so I can only assume it is made fresh. It is better to eat the mochi first, though - I try to save the best for last when I eat and the coldness of the ice cream actually froze part of the mochi! Will be coming here again and again.
Matcha soft serve and drinks spot by Sawtelle. If you check in on yelp, you can get two free toppings for your soft serve. It’s a small shop manned by one worker when we went, and there’s a couple of outdoor tables where you can eat/drink and look over the parking lot. Came here on a Saturday after lunch at Tsujita, and there’s a short line but since it’s just one person working, you’ll have to wait for her to take and then make the orders. I got the matcha milk float which is the latte with the soft serve on top. Definitely a bit over the top, but you do have the option to customize the sweetness. I think 75% was a good level. The soft serve is really creamy and they use ceremonial grade matcha, so the flavor is pretty strong. The latte was creamy and sweet, and you could also get oat milk instead for 75 cents more. The 16 oz was a good size for one person although you could definitely share it if you want to try multiple things. They do take credit cards and there’s no bathroom available. There’s a parking lot right in the front, but it’s really busy so I suggest finding street parking instead. Overall it’s a cute, small spot for matcha focused drinks and soft serve.
Decent place for matcha flavored desserts and drinks. Very matcha flavor. Small store and some seating outside, but wouldn't count on it.
Love their matcha. Great ones you can find from here.
The only thing I miss is that they used to give me a little bit of an extra on the soft serve but now they don’t. I mean make it fair that’s fine.
Anyway, great soft serves and drinks if you are looking for any matches.
Best soft serve ever! They didn't get the full 5 star review because they kept running out of key menu items.
Cute little dessert place with yummy flavors. I recommend the all matcha one, but the swirl is a great choice too!
