Just absolutely the best. I’ve gotten incredibly knowledgeable, empathetic care during the best and worst of times for my pets here and am so grateful for LCAH. They go above and beyond and really love animals and truly care about their well being. What more could you ask for?

Since I moved to Santa Barbara in 2014, I have taken my dogs to the La Cumbre animal hospital and have never been let down. I have never been ripped off and the vets have always been extremely kind to my dogs. From surgeries, to teeth cleaning, to regular checkups, to getting airline certifications within a day, this office has always put in more than the extra effort and care towards my animals. I recommend all to stop on by and give this place a try!

I have brought my pets to La Cumbre Animal Hospital for many years. They are the BEST vets in Santa Barbara. They are not only the highest skilled, they are the most loving of animal hospitals.

Dr. Beverly Holmes and the other vets at this pet hospital go above and beyond for their clients. I lived in Santa Barbara for 19 years, and for over 10 years was a client of this vet clinic. Both of my Irish setters, as well as our cat and our Bichon Frise were all treated at this clinic for most of their care. In a few cases, they were referred off-site for specialty care, and we were always very impressed with the referrals as well. When one of my Irish setters was elderly, he had a serious foot wound which was compounded by nerve damage in his foot. This required daily bandage changes. While the clinic at that time was not open on weekends, Dr. Holmes would come in and open up just to change Aidan's bandages. I remember one instance where she was late for her own child's birthday party because she put Aidan's care first. This is truly compassion at the highest level. Additionally, I could always count on her to give me honest and truthful information about the options of care available to my pets. In the case of elderly pets, tough decisions sometimes have to be made, and I always felt like this pet clinic had my pets' well being first and foremost in their recommendations. Pets are expensive, and their health care is no different. But for the years of love and joy they bring you, they are the world's best deal. This pet clinic, their veterinarians and their staff, help keep our pets happy and healthy and living long lives. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Negligent application of a medical device by LCAH resulted in significant neck wounds to my 1 year old golden retriever dog named Max.

My golden retriever dog Max had been a patient at LCAH since he was 8 weeks old. Max underwent a neuter surgery in May of 2018. LCAH had placed a hard plastic e-collar around his neck post-surgery. I was instructed to not remove the e-collar for a 2 week period both by Dr. Stotter, and a vet tech. The thing is, whoever placed the e-collar on him put it on wrong. The improper application resulted in significant neck wounds to Max (see photos). Luckily I discovered the wounds within the first few days or so, and removed the e-collar before it could do more damage.

When I brought Max back into LCAH to address the neck wounds, they wanted me to pay for the treatment of his wounds. I was always polite with them, and chalked the whole thing up to a mistake, but I told them that I believed they made a mistake here and that they should comp his treatment. They did end up comping his initial treatment, but made me pay for newly needed medicines. Max had a recheck scheduled for a week later, that I was told would be comped.

The following morning, I had received a voicemail from Dr. Kuesis (a co-owner of LCAH) requesting that I call her back. I assumed she wanted to check in on Max, and perhaps apologize for LCAH's mistake. When I called her back she immediately proceeded to go on an uninterrupted 5 minute belligerent diatribe, culminating in her dismissing me and Max from the practice as well as refusing to provide any further complimentary treatment.

If Dr. Kuesis believed that this single incident irreparably damaged the relationship to the point that I needed to be dismissed as a client, I have great concern for any other pet owners who ever bring up legitimate grievances or who have their pet harmed by LCAH. I'm astounded that Dr. Kuesis resorted to dismissal when it was clearly evident Max would shortly need followup care for his neck wounds, not to mention the significant benefit of continuity of care. I have never had any prior issues with LCAH. I was always on time for my appointments, I never missed an appointment, I always paid my bill, and I treated all staff with courtesy and respect.

LCAH has yet to reimburse me for my costs related to treating my dogs neck wounds (about $350).

There are better, more affordable vet practices out there. Oh and buy your pet meds online, it's cheaper.

Our English bulldog Winston has been coming to see Dr Holmes at Lacumbre animal hospital since he was eight weeks old. Dr Holmes is the most caring and knowledgeable veterinarian we've had the pleasure of meeting.
Winston just loves her, all the staff are very accommodating and nice.

We have taken our dogs to La Cumbre Animal Hospital since the 1960's! The quality of the Doctors and Staff has never been less than the very best.
My 'current' dog loves going there. No matter the procedure, he is cared for and is thrilled to be back!
They provide the best of care and concern. Nothing better!

What caring and professional doctors and staff. We have been taking our pets to L. C. A. H.for a couple of decades and they continue to over achieve.

They deserve all the compliments I just read and more.

Please don't think twice your loved ones couldn't be in better hands.

My family has been a client of La Cumbre Animal Hospital since moving into Hidden Valley (for over 45 years). All the staff are amazing, friendly, courteous, compassionate and also make you feel like family. None of us have ever had a complaint about the care of our pets.

Good service and nice staff. But don't trust what the tell you with a price. Seems a bit of bait and add. Has happened on three occasions with them. Something that was supposed to cost x, ended up costing x + 50%. Not a great way to do business. My small business would be out of business if I did this.

We have been coming to La Cumbre Animal Hospital since the 1960's and have always been pleased with the care our pets have received. But over the past few years it has gotten even better. We receive follow up calls from our vet after appointments to check and see how our pet is doing and to see if we have any questions. Their personal touch and caring Eve Kuesis gives us is fantastic.

The staff at LCAH is great! Dr. Kuesis provides such great care to our dogs. She's never in a rush and always takes time to ensure she knows all the important details about our furry babies.

We've taken our pets to our neighborhood veterinary clinic (otherwise known as La Cumbre Animal Hospital) for three decades. The roster of vets have changed during that time, but the quality of care hasn't. Dr. Beverly Holmes recently surprised us with an after hours phone call regarding the outcome of lab results. I appreciate that kind of thoroughness and dedication.

Caring and compassionate staff.

My parents took their Golden to LCAH and received excellent care.

So when I moved back to SB and needed to find a vet for Jake, I called LCAH. Jake has received excellent care.

I would highly recommend LCAH!

As owners of 5 pets, we spend a fair amount of time at La Cumbre Animal Hospital, where we have been clients for 25 years! We have continually been impressed by the fantastic doctors, staff, overall service and atmosphere. If we could give them a '10' out of '5', we would!
