17A rating of 4, or even 3 is really generous for this place. I wouldn't know how the salsa taste because I was not given any with my bean cheese and rice burrito (to go order). No chips either. It was very bland and I have paid similar prices for steak or shrimp burritos at other places in the area.
The mission style burrito was big and tasty.going back for another before we leave tomorrow. Probably my favorite meal on our west coast vacation so far.
Always amazing food each time i went! Fast service, great food, and not too expensive.my family get it for dinner from time to time.
Before here, I've had refried beans a handful of times, usually from Taco Bell and a very vague memory of having it from a can. Also from Taco Bell? (I will separately follow up on this strange memory I've just recalled.)
The refried beans here are amazing! I really like soft foods and smooth foods, so this hit the mark for me completely. I have come back here twice literally because I was craving their refried beans! I promise I'm not crazy if you try it too.
I've had their nachos, bites of a burrito, and the chicken dinner plate. All pretty good. The nachos especially are HUGE and super delicious. Pair it with a Mexican Coke and you've got yourself a pretty swell Friday night dinner.
Rude staff, unreal how nasty the women behind the counter are. Saw them just told an older woman that she couldn’t use the bathroom and wash hands before eating. This tells me that these people don’t wash their hands either. Been here before, get ready for bubble guts and a nice case of hepatitis.
Fantastic good. Had the shrimp and steak burrito which was delicious (but enormous). Advice cooking with a large appetite!
Ordered a "vegan super burrito" and they put cheese on it. Definitely not vegan. Also ordered chips and guacamole, and the guacamole is very watered down.
Even though the burritos were quite large, they failed to give us what we asked for. Little bit of chicken, lots of rice which we did not ask for. Not the first time. So personable but just can’t seem to get it right. Boo hoo…
Like the person taking the order. She was patient with one whose hearing is slowly failing. Love the super burritos, and always have. Long live!
The burrito I was served was rather average but it did taste quite good. The spread of the ingredients inside was uneven however. I had asked for a spicy burrito; only one small section near the end of the burrito was spicy. The ingredients were grouped into sections so there would be areas where the only thing you’ll taste will be one ingredient. It wasn’t a bad eating experience but it would’ve been better if the ingredients were spread out.
Fresh flavors. A little pricey for a burrito but the taste made up for it. Hot salsa is not very hot, I will remember to ask for more next time.
I ordered my burrito online at 8: 30pm and I got a confirmation that my order was ready at 8: 57pm. I showed up at 9 pm and the doors were locked and nobody would give me my burrito. I was still charged for this purchase. Horrible communication
I have been here and there tasting mexican food from different cities
i have ordered salads with diferent type of meats and always liked it but i have never tasted a salad with grilled bbq chicken breast it was a first for me and way too sweet
for being 25 years on the business is been a long road menu needs some twist to accommodate those new people trying authentic mexican food
Ordered a regular burrito and asked explicitly for no pico de gallo and guess what's in it? Pico de gallo. Thanks.
Called in the order and everything was perfect. Missed that great taste. We were long over due.
This is my "go-to, " mexican food take out place in San Mateo - and has been for 25 years. The owner is conscientious, cares about the food and his customers, and some of the staff have been there for decades.
Whether I'm ordering just for me, or for a crew of 6, the super burritos (grilled chicken with real guacamole) are monstrous, flavorful, and a food bargain.
Even now with take-out only, this is still a great place for great food.
