La Isla Cevicheria reviews
15Fish tacos are better than rubio's, half the price, and it's calmer and quieter inside.
We had the battered fish tacos and they were excellent! Our counter personwas very nice. We shall return. The food tastes authentic and not chain food!
Passed by not expecting to stop! Noticed stands and people mingling.so, my wife and I decided to have a drink. The bartender was very nice and amicable- highly appreciated that. So, we had a few drinks. Mainly, the bartender was the reason why.it is nice to feel welcomed and appreciated. I apologize for not remembering your name but you know who you are and just want to say thank you. My wife and I had a pleasant time and it was all due to a simple gratuitous experience.
This place is super cool.it is located in a little, Western-looking plaza in Temecula. The birra tacos that I had were super delicious and came with some spicy dipping sauce. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.
Tried the ceviche and tacos. Tacos were good size and filled with fish. The portions are well priced.
Definitely a must! Had the best fish tacos, we will be back for sure. Nick is rocking it over there!
Fresh fresh and creative ways to serve seafood! Loved the shrimp tostada Chef Nick recommended, don’t forget the mayo We’ll be back very soon!
We didn't head to Vail Headquarters for this restaurant but while we were there we had to try their fish tacos. Flavor of the breaded fish was spot on but if I had a suggestion it would be to scale them down and add some lime to the cabbage. They could easily cut the fish down 30%, cabbage down by half and add a bit more of their sour cream (so happy to see its not the usual mayonnaise) and still sell them for the same price.
Not sure why this place is called isla cevichera it’s more of an American style sea food, food is ok but I wasn’t impressed with the tiny bowl of agua Chile also this place had no AC running
La Isla Cevicheria is located inside the food hall. They have never disappointed us no matter our order. I suggest their Shrimp Bowl because it is simply delicious! Lots of shrimp in a generous portion
I had the Seabass ceviche from a farmers market. It was so yummy and refreshing, I've been searching for good ceviche in my area and I was glad to find this place. The seller was also very friendly and welcoming!
Man, was pretty disappointed after trying this place out. There were so many great reviews, I was excited to try out the food!
I got grilled fish tacos and a shrimp taco, my wife got ceviche.
We shared chips with guacamole and salsa.
I was to start with the only high point of our experience - the ceviche was pretty tasty.
As for the taste of everything else.not impressed.
As much I hate to admit this - the fish (and the shrimp taco) were inedible.
The seasoning of the grilled shrimp and fish was lacking, severely lacking. The tacos were covered in mounds of lettuce, slathered in sour cream, and included grilled fajita-mix veggies.bell pepper on a fish taco? The aroma coming off of these tacos was harsh - not fishy like I'd anticipate a seafood taco to be, but strong and similar to canned pet food.
It was honestly the only fish taco I've never been able to finish - and trust me, I was HUNGRY - this was truly upsetting.
Since I was unable to eat the 3 fish tacos I had bought for myself and the 1 shrimp taco, I decided to just snack on the chips, salsa, and guac.which also were not satisying.
The chips were overly salty - placed on a tray without a plate underneath them (I was very turned off by this - imagine, the trays that get sat next to the trash cans in fast food joints - my chips were laying on that same type of carrying tray.)
The salsa - by far the most disappointing salsa I've ever had - complete waste of money (as was the rest of the food, aside from the ceviche)
The Guac - flavorless, no lime? No garlic?
I hate being so crass, as the young gentleman who helped us (and potentially plating the food?) seemed like a sweet guy - but wow, I can honestly say I've never thrown away so much food in one sitting before. I felt pretty crummy about it, to be truthful.
2/5 stars -
Pros: Interesting location, nice people working there, good ceviche.
Cons: The fish tacos, shrimp tacos, guacamole, and salsa were inedible and a waste of money
Never a disappointment with either the grilled shrimp burrito, or the battered shrimp burrito, super fresh, perfectly cooked shrimp, so hard to come by! And the best sauce, ever, and enough for three meals
Great service. Good food. Carla went out of her way to make vegan tacos for me which I appreciate very much. Muchas gracias chica.
Stopped in here for lunch with some friends from out of town that were looking to have fish tacos. We were NOT DISAPPOINTED! The fish tacos were large and filling with multiple pieces of fish. The shrimp tacos were equally great and generous, but we preferred the fish just a bit more. The mixed ceviche was delicious and served with a good serving of fresh tortilla chips. I just wish it had cucumber in it (but that's my taste). I would definitely recommend trying this place out. Everything was about $13-16 dollars (two tacos or a bowl of ceviche).
