The place has MOLD. Like others have said, they illegally change the locks. I woke up to rats in the closet

My first 30 days has been a joy. I’m enjoying the peace and quiet of the complex, the use of the many amenities and convenience of stores and shops. The staff has been so welcoming and maintenance is really the best I’ve had the pleasure to interact with. It’s truly been a great start to 2023

I have lived here for over four years now, coming on my fifth lease renewal! When I was searching far and wide for a place to live back in 2019, I had a pretty high standard of prerequisites. The place needed to be a.) an easy commute to work but b.) immaculately clean (I am a "clean freak" to an almost clinical extreme) c.) have decent pricing and d.) have a great landlord with integrity. Not only did La Jolla Canyon fulfill each of these rigid requirements, it surpassed them. This place is a gem, and what is wonderful about the landlord Broderick and his amazing Assistant Property Manager Mary is that they are so easy to communicate with. If you have a minor issue with anything at all, if you need maintenance for anything etc, their response time is super quick in sending someone to help. They genuinely care about their tenants, which is actually quite rare. There is a nice pool, gym, and picturesque hiking trail in the back. It's also walking distance from UCSD, UTC Mall, etc. My only minor critique is that the pricing has definitely gone up significantly within the past two years. I understand that this is usually a necessary evil of an ever-shifting economy, but it would be nice if long-term tenants were given some respite or discount. Other than that, however, I can't recommend La Jolla Canyon enough. Wonderful place and wonderful people!

I recently moved into La Jolla Canyon and couldn't be happier! The leasing agent, Mary Smith, was exceptional, providing outstanding service throughout the leasing process with utmost warmth and professionalism. The community is well-maintained and the maintenance team is prompt and efficient. Al-John has been very quick in responding and resolving one of our maintenace requests. I highly recommend this community as a wonderful place to call home!

This place is a dump. Your car gets broken into, hella expensive, hella loud construction, illegally lock out tenants. Just horrible. Place needs a mall out over it.

Lived here for almost 3 years! Absolutely amazing place to live! I only recently left for a new area but I have nothing but great things to say about this place. The management, especially Mary, always went above and beyond. Always so pleasant, communicative, and always on top of everything. Apartment complex is super clean and has amazing amenities. Maintenance guy is super handy and efficient and they get on every situation ASAP. I was never left hanging in a lurch. Neighbors are great too. Always respectful, clean, and quiet. Never had to worry about safety here at all. I've had packages get delivered while out of town and still be sitting at my door when I got back and they have nightly patrol. Highly recommend this place!

Our Saturday morning turned into a stressful one when our fridge stopped working over night. All of our food started to thaw out so we were quick to call the maintenance line and Al-John was here to help us with 20 minutes. We are very appreciative of his speedy arrival as it's been raining all day. When he arrived he was extremely kind and attentive.

He assessed our fridge and relayed us with what he determined was wrong and kept us updated on every step. Al-John was also extremely considerate in our house wearing protective shoe covers and drying off before stepping onto the carpet. Within one hour or so he was able to replace our fridge so none of our food went bad! We were so happy! Al-John also took great care in cleaning up after himself, drying the fridge off, and even sweeping up the dust from the old fridge. I can not recommend him enough, he turned our stressful morning into a happy one.

Also previously Al-John fixed our closet rack, again he was so considerate and took care in keeping our clothes in order. I really appreciate how Al-John keeps us informed in what he is doing and is extremely efficient at his job. Thank you Al-John for all your great help!

My partner and I have been living at La Jolla Canyon for almost 2 years as our first home, and both the front office staff and maintenance staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and respectful. In the front office, both Broderick and Mary have offered exceptional customer service and are very friendly people. Whether by phone or email, they respond quickly.

These apartments are definitely not luxurious, but the La Jolla Canyon maintenance staff does an awesome job at keeping our home maintained. In particular, Al-John has offered his assistance with several repairs including a closet rod that fell out of place, an outlet that was shooting sparks out, and a fridge that stopped working overnight. For all of these instances, Al-John responded almost instantly and our failing fridge was replaced within less than 2 hours on a rainy Saturday morning. Thank you Al-John for your kindness and hard work!
