La Palma Eye Doctors

I went on ZocDoc and looked for the closest place that accepted my insurance (Medí-Cal) and found this gem! I didn’t need an exam, so I didn’t see the doctor. However, the front desk personnel gave me amazing service. I first saw Luis who was calm, attentive, and answered all my questions regarding getting glasses without getting my prescription done by them. Once I chose my glasses I was seen by Mirelda (Don’t know if this is how you spell her name) who was beyond helpful. She explained to me the additional stuff I may need on my glasses, had amazing bedside manner, and also told me she would rush my glasses once I told her mine broke. She also set up a next day complimentary appointment with their lasik doctor partner.

I highly recommend this place. Amid Covid 19 they’re still up and running and they are friendly and accommodating.

This place treats you accoring to the type of insurance you have. The perscription I got was worng I had to come in again to correct it. The lab they use might be the issue or the old equipment. It took me 6 weeks to get my glasses. I think they hold your glasses hostage until the insurance pays them back, to be honest. AVOID this place. There are cheaper places to buy online and better dorctors and staff.

OMG! Talk about Angels! Dr. Bold and his Assistant Mirella are not just the best at what they do, but really care about their patients! I almost missed an opportunity, but they came through for me yesterday, got me into my difficult to wear contacts and passed my eye test today and got the job! For those that don’t know, I have the most difficult time wearing contacts/glasses because of a condition I have called Keratoconus, I have never been able to see 20/20, but thanks to Dr. Bold I now can! His passion for optometry, expertise, humble and caring nature to us-his patients is really outstanding!

I would give zero stars if I could.

First of all, this place was ridiculously over priced. There are so many other better places for cheaper.

Second, I was told I was suspect of glaucoma and I went to someone else for a second opinion and I was told my eyes are perfectly healthy and have no signs of glaucoma.

Third, I kept getting headaches from using the prescription they gave me and realized they wrote the prescription wrong. They had my left eye prescription written for my right and vice versa. My prescription was also too strong.

Never coming here again.
