La Penca Azul

The food was wonderful, our server was excellent, and attentive to our needs. The soup of the day was delicious. If you like mexican foods then go here, you will not be disappointed.

I used to come here when it was la pinata I've recently got to experience la penca Azul and its great!
The atmosphere and vibe Definitely pass the test.
Servers are friendly and professional, the food was great the flautas were a bit tiny but I'm a eater so could be just me lol

Food was wrong order and salty other order was burnt steak and shrimp they were rushing and did not do a good job. The drinks were awesome!

Absolutely my favorite Mexican restaurant ever in the Bay Area! Highly highly recommend it! Super good food, staff are great, everything’s great. What are you waiting for? Just go.

They put something in the chips and salsa. Something addictive lol. It’s the best free starter ever. The food’s good too but boy you could get full on just the chips and salsa lol

The outside dinning experience Was awful pigeons everywhere busses/truck's less then a foot from your table.

Standing in the hallway and trying to order off a full menu for a party of 6 was interesting. How about a paper menu at the table and everyone can pick the food and one person bring up the menu all checked off. If you were inside you did get a waitress. If you sat outside I guess it was considered Togo some people got plastic and some got actual plates on other tables.my wife ordered pescado a full size fish that came wrapped in foil just sitting on the table we had to ask for a plate the Waite seemed a bit confused that it came only in foil.the $5 mixed lemonades were pure sugar and had to be diluted by half and they were mostly ice. The food was extremely good but not enough to make up for it. Now I understand if they were short staffed but that didn't seem to be the case. More confused than anything.although not lately we have eaten there quite a bit over the years. Even when it was la pinata. Food has always been the best and we'll definitely be back.

The food is good, but if you come in the evening be prepared for deafening noise and music. Couldn't hold a conversation it was so loud. I had to leave.

Ive been here a few times but this time I took my dad here for the 1st time the food was so good he went home & went to sleep he said he will be back for sure

Was extremely disappointed, first since we wanted to sit outside they had us pay for our food inside which was strange. I ordered a guava margarita, and it was extremely watered down, I could hardly taste the guava flavor & it tasted like it had no tequila. The waitress took my margarita back and brought a new one, but it was still not good. Then, they brought our food in plastic boxes and plastic forks, we felt as if we were eating
in s cafeteria. Very disappointed

Service was good. Food quality/taste was mediocre. Could get the same food for half the price at a small spot on International. Guayaba michelada sounded great, but not much guayaba flavor-just kind of mediocre as well

Love this place. I order from them whenever I need a tray of food for dinner parties. I’m Mexican, so I know my stuff! I keep going back.

I went to La Penca Azul last Saturday. I have been going to this restaurant for years since it used to be La Pinata. It's my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Bay area. Unfortunately this last time I was disappointed. We ordered margaritas and it took about twenty minutes to get our drinks. I ordered the carnitas plate which I always order. The meat wasn't as flavorful. Chips and salsa we're good. I hope my next experience will be better.

Best Mexican Rest! Food is always great, my oldest always gets the Super Burrito, basically 2-3 burritos in 1 (Very Big) I always get the menudo!
