La Pergoletta reviews
18Arrived around 900pm last Thursday and was seated with my date immediately (they close at 10pm), thanks to the awesome hostess. Our waiter took the drink orders and made knowledgeable suggestions. Per his advice, I switched up from my normal spaghetti and meatballs to a flat-pasta with cream/marinara sauce with ground-beef and mushrooms (a bolognese i think). It was incredible. Fresh home-made pasta, delicious sauce and tasty wine! This place is awesome. My date had a pesto pasta that was also yummy (although I only had a small bite and i'm not a big fan of pesto). Great vibe here, amazing service and delicious pasta!
I do not get the hype of this place.
As an Italian myself I can tell you that this place is not authentic, the name and idea of some of the dishes yes - but the execution big no.
On top of that the food, at least the dishes we had, were not prepared fresh. My husband ordered lasagna and it came out as a soupy, oily mess that was heated up in the microwave. My Tiramisu was store bought and was sour. My pappardelle were definitely not freshly “house” made and the sauce was bland.
Literally the only positive thing about this place were the two lovely servers that were serving us.
My nonna wouldn’t approve ;)
This is easily one of our favorite places to eat in the neighborhood. The pasta is delicious. The vibe is homey and unpretentious. We love bringing our friends and family when they're in town too, as it never disappoints!
Glad we saw this small Italian restaurant while driving by on vacation. The staff was very friendly. The bread was amazing everything was homemade and fresh very flavorful I had lasagna and my son requested penne pasta with marinara. My son said it felt like we were in Italy. Great experience, highly recommended.
Consistently good handmade pasta and sauces.
When your 5 year old wolfs down an adult portion, you know it's good
Update: years later, kids still love it. My son specifically requested 'the place with the yummy meat sauce'
We like it too, we have our 'standard order' now.
I had the salmon meatballs. OMG! All I can say is I've definitely craved them every day since. I'm coming back for them. I didn't take any pics because when it came out I immediately devoured it ️ don't judge me
The lasagna is “last meal” level. I am still thinking about it months later. Will make a trip to silverlake just for that lasagna.
I get why there is so much hype in this restaurant. First of all, it's a very little but charming Italian restaurant that will surely make you feel very homey. Second, the food came out pretty quickly and everything tasted flavorful! Third, the price is very reasonable for the huge amount of serving that they give.
But why 4 stars only? As much as I love how everything tasted, the quality of the pasta noodles weren't my favorite. I felt like the pasta noodles were overcooked.
With that being said, I would still go back because the whole experience is amazing but I hope the next time we come, the pasta noodles are cooked to our liking.
So charming, surprisingly affordable, and great food! The “make your own” pasta option is so fun and great for groups/pickier folks.
We found this restaurant driving from Griffin Observatory. Nice, cozy place in old Italian style. Our food was great - really good homemade pasta. It was so good that we came back the next day. But you definitely need to fix your service.
Found this little gem of a restaurant driving by with my husband. The food was incredible, and tasted authentic. They make their own Pasta/Noodles. The Meat Was Perfectly Medium Rare with Rosemary Infused Pasta.
The black Pasta Is Infused With Black Squid Ink, And Mixed With lots Of seafood in the Pasta. Both Dishes were Amazing!
This place is always so fantastic! Great food! Great selection of drinks! And wonderful people- especially Leslie! What a delight!
This place is a real gem! We kinda ended up there by accident because everything else in the area was already closed but what a pleasant surprise! It looks pretty unassuming from the outside but don't let that fool you.
Every dish we had was simply exquisite! The pasta with ragu bolognese was for my taste just perfect. Simple yet very refined.
And I also very highly recommend the Tiramisu which was in a league of its own.
Hands down some of the best truly Italian food I have had in Los Angeles. And for the quality of the food they serve it is very reasonably priced.
Overall a great experience and highly recommended!
I was quite impressed with the ambience, the wait staff and the wine list. Not a big fan of being inside a stuffy restaurant that has a noticeable fish odor nor being next to the kitchen entrance. Nonetheless, I was up for an adventure since I was totally unfamiliar with Sardegna and both the inland and coastal cuisine. We shared the octopus stew which had a richly aromatic and flavorful tomato based broth and fish that was a bit too chewy for my palette. The burrata with mixed greens and fava beans was satisfactorily seasoned. I chose the tuna which was served on a bed a greens (red swiss chard? Perhaps?). It was seriously overcooked but very flavorful. There were four in our party and one had the pasta with squid ink which was to my thinking a bit too overpowering in fish flavor and bit too gummy.
If I were to give it a 10, I would. This restaurant is exactly what you would consider a Italian restaurant. Food was great, price was great, restaurant was great! I especially loved the meatballs. If I could rate the meatballs themselves, I would give them a 100.
Had the Fettuccine Bolognese. The Bolognese was pretty good but the pasta was too soft. I couldn't feel the difference between the pasta and the sauce.
Great food, but too expensive! Has much more of a family feel than the high end fancy Italian restuarant down the street yet I paid about the same. If you were a little cheaper, I'd be a loyal customer. For the same price I can get a nicer atmosphere and slightly better food, so why bother? May return if I want to mix things up.
Not worth it.
The pasta and the sauce themselves were very tasty, but 30$ plus tax and plus tips for a very small plate of pasta it's almost an insult.
The service was nice and corteous, put the waiter had no knowledge of the wines at all.
