The cappuccino can't be beat (truly, you'll never want your cappuccino anywhere else) & the deserts are unmatched and they have truly Italian gelato and pizza!

The "road closed sign" at the stoplight right before is just to warn people of the closed area on 9 way past the bakery/cafe. The La Placa is not even a minute from that sign and the road is perfectly clear to it.

Hands down the best pizza in Santa Cruz, well worth a stop. Only about 20 min from downtown.

If you crave for marzipan based cookies or items, this is the place to go in Santa Cruz area. They have a good selection of baked items and many other options. My rating is for Marzipan items.

This place is the best in town, even in Santa Cruz county! From deliciously addictive baked goods made in house daily to important gelato! As well as the BEST pizza, well worth the price! (It is a thin crust, some may compare it to a "New York style" I'd recommend to anyone looking for baked goods and treats, or an easy pizza dinner you need to make a trip to this little mountain bakery.

Great baked items and the gelato was delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. The parking lot is small and connected to a road so just be mindful of that.

This bakery is so yummy, I don't have to go to Italy to buy a $1.00 home to live the Italian lifestyle and it's only about 3 miles away on back roads. The Spumoni Gelato is awesome and the Tiramisu Eclair was a totally, delicious and new experience, as I adore Neopolitans. I go there every couple weeks for treats now! Plus, they have lots of vegan and gluten free treats for special diets, so everyone can eat yummy treats.

Always up beat, grateful for the patronage! Pastries and Gelato are second to none! Outstanding A mountain gem for sure!

We only got a pistachio gelato but the place and the staff were very welcoming. The gelato was on par with what we've had in Rome. We'll probably go back to try the cookies!
