Shrimp and fish tacos had rice in them. Not typical construction and my wife was more upset about it than I was. Friendly staff and quick service. COVID has affected the hours.

Very good if not very standard Mexican. That did the usual options with great ingredients and a figuratively healthy amount of grease, quite literally not healthy. But the taste was good excellent.

The price was on point and the people taking orders were friendly even when busy.

I love how seriously this place took COVID. The strict mask wearing made me feel safe in enjoying the DELICIOUS food. Very delicious burritos and good prices.

Extremely disappointed in the quality of tacos. Judging by the other reviews, I may have gotten a bad batch, but everyone in our group said their meat was overcooked, under seasoned, and generally unauthentic.

We ordered carne asada nachos and a side of beans. Both were no bueno. Just a little bit of cheese on the nachos and the carne was super disappointing. Tough, over cooked meat. Basically a box of chips with crema. Beans were runny and bland.

I lived in San Diego for four years and this is the best California burrito I’ve had in San Diego. I’ve been to others in town and I used to love la perla but I just found out that the woman who owns the shop is actually the sister of the owner of La perla so it makes sense why both are so delicious. She is a sweetheart too! Come check them out.

I ordered a wet (enchilada style) chicken burrito, taquitos, quesadillas, and churros. Their red sauce on the burrito was outstanding. The green sauce is very spicy but it blends with the food flavoring perfectly. The taquitos were a little bland, but with some salt were what you would expect, and they were dressed in sour cream pico and very good. The taquitos were for my son and while I realized they're not a traditional dish it was nice to see them on the menu and not have to explain to him that he has to get a flauta because they don't have taquitos. You'd be surprised how many places can screw up a quesadilla but they were spot on here. The cheese was fatty and flavorful and they were cooked to perfection. I'm going to try and make it back before we leave because I want to experience the horchata and order a few more things.

Good tacos and breakfast burrito. Only negative is shortened hours right now. Only open 11-7, so we missed the opportunity for breakfast burritos once and dinner once.

This place is awesome great food and customer service showed my wife to a California burrito for the 1st time and it was amazing! Authentic!

Got the shrimp burrito and the carne asada taco. It's as authentic as it gets. Felt like I was back in Mexico visiting family.

The chile rellano was decent, the carne asada tacos were good, and the chimichanga was one of the best I've ever had. Great people working there.

The el pastor burrito is great, but sometimes it seems a little disorganized with who is taking orders and who is doing other jobs so sometimes you’re waiting in line and the cashier is doing other odd jobs.

Great place to grab some quick and cheap tacos or burritos. I wouldn't have the shrimp tacos again, since they were rubbery, but everything else was just fine.

Excellent bigger sized tacos. Full of perfectly cooked and seasoned carne asada. Rice and beans were good. Guacamole was a good size but somewhat plain.

Found this place because it was close to where I was staying and didn’t expect much. After my first bite of the carne asada burrito I was blown away. The meat is so soft and the guac and veggies are so fresh. My friends had the california burrito, which was also really yummy. Amazing place, must try!

Fish tacos are fried and the piece of dish is big. Two tacos was enough to fill up and they were delicious. Normally I don't like rice in my burrito/taco as it's just used as a filler. But here it felt like a nice bonus

Carne asada fries for the wife. Huge portion and actual grilled pieces of steak. She liked it.

3 year old got the baby quesodilla and it was enough to fill her up.

Also horchata is on point

I used to eat here 8 years ago and it was soooo good then. And it brought back memories after so many years. Food is and will always be great.

Found this place on Yelp as the top taco spot in the Pacific Beach area. Service was phenomenal and food was superb! We came for tacos but couldn't resist the Cali burrito made with fries, guacamole, Pico and cheese and Carne asada or in my case shrimp.
