Excellent and timely service. All the treatment options were explained clearly as well as the costs. This was clearly a team effort to address patient needs.

Dr. Huang is the best dentist I’ve ever had in my life. My daughter ever visited Dr. Huang for her cavities when she lived in the Bay Area years ago. She was highly impressed by Dr. Huang’s kindness, friendly and remarkable dental treatment. Many times when I experienced big dental issues, my daughter suggested me going to Dr. Huang.
I visited Dr. Huang this Monday for my bridge replacement. According to my previous dentist, one of the supporting teeth decaying cannot be saved. I went to Dr. Huang is for consultation. If the tooth is curable, I expected Dr. Huang to do the bridge replacement.
Dr. Huang carefully exam the tooth, analyzed and explained the x-ray, answered all my questions and gave me all possible options. She’s never pushed me into anything, treating me like a family, giving recommendation completely on my side, treating me like a family.
I wish I could have Dr. Huang as my general dentist, however I live in Sacramento area, travel to Oakland isn’t easy for me—I’m not comfortable driving for my vision issue.
However, Dr. Huang’s sincere care, passion and professional ethics that I experienced myself, made me want to recommend this incredible dentist to anyone who lives in that area expecting to put his/her dental care under trustable hands.
I was also impressed with all the staff here for their being friendly, warm and professional.

The staff is very kind in my experience…. But I always suspected that they were too eager to do fillings for non cavities during my five years going here, every 6 months there was a new issue they wanted to operate on. Since switching dentists over the last three years I’ve never had one cavity despite having the same habits/diet.

I was also sold a ridiculously expensive $700 sleep guard that insurance was supposed to cover, and given a surprise bill years after a separate procedure via automated text. I called and said it was wrong, the person who answered agreed and helped me get rid of the charge but blamed someone who had worked there for at least 5 years. It just reflects badly on the business no matter which way you look at it.

Can’t believe I’m saying this about a dentist, but I love my visits to lake merritt dental. The folks take the time to get to know you, so they’re incredibly professional, but with a personal touch. I’ve been a patient for years and years and have never had a single complaint. I’d recommend them to anybody.

Recently became a patient about two months ago after trying out two other dentists in the area and having had worked in a dental office myself, I understand how a dental office should function and flow. To say that Lake Merritt Dental has exceeded my expectations is an understatement. They’re actually much better organized and state of the art than the dental office I worked for a couple years back and definitely a million times better than Total Health Dental and another private practice in the area. They stay on top of scheduling and are easy to work with cuz my schedule is hectic. They provide me with insurance estimates and total cost before I begin treatment so I know exactly what I’m paying, no surprise fees after treatment. They remember little details about me and mention them when they see me next. And if that wasn’t enough, I recently had an accident that left me with my two front teeth half missing. I looked like a goofy vampire. Dr Patel and team were able to squeeze me in the same day and fix my teeth up like nothing had ever happened. Which was incredible because the following day (today!) I had a flight out for a week long vacation. Incredibly happy with the service and their determination to accommodate my emergency visit despite having a busy schedule. Thanks guys! The staff at Lake Merritt Dental are professional, courteous, and very friendly. The work is always skilfully and expertly performed by the dentist, who is very mindful of my comfort; I never feel uneasy or anxious in the chair, and always walk away pleased with the whole experience and results. I would recommend Lake Merritt Dental to everyone.

I visited LMD as a new patient. It was a routine check-up, and I was not experiencing any issues. The office environment was fine. My dental hygienist was great. I was told everything looked normal. Then the dentist I saw (there are multiple here) proposed eight fillings. EIGHT. I've never had a cavity, so I felt uneasy about all of that drilling and delayed the treatment so I could think about it. I then sought a second opinion, and the second dentist I saw was shocked by the initial proposal. Needless to say, I will not be returning to LMD. They blatantly attempted to over-treat non-existing issues, I believe in order to bill my insurance for all of that work and follow-up appointments. It's truly disappointing. Over-treatment is not a harmless "preventive" or "proactive" practice; it's predatory and has long-term consequences for short-term revenue. Always remember it's important to ask lots of questions in medical settings, and it's your right to seek a second opinion before going through with any medical treatment.

Dealt with my non-emergency emergency (cracked molar) immediately Dr. Patel is skilled and friendly. Everyone I encountered left me feeling that I was taken care of, even though they were busy. Highly recommended.

They do excellent work. I had a crown completed in one appointment and it fits perfectly.

I've had a fear of the dentist for years and have needed wisdom teeth removed ASAP. I've never felt so taken care of and can't recommend this office enough. They gave a full treatment plan and laid out costs to show me exactly what I needed, while being kind and compassionate. They have membership options for those without dental insurance. An effortless experience for something that honestly isn't fun at times.

Their estimates of procedures is wildly off. Something that they said would take 15 minutes ended up taking two hours.

I called them twice afterwards to follow up on next steps and they haven't contacted me since. Save yourselves (a lot) of time and avoid this place!

I needed some teeth extractions and received the best attention from all of the staff. The doctor made sure I was comfortable and his assistant did as well.
