Lakehouse Resort, San Marcos CA

Miserable first night experience. Our heater in our room didn’t work? After they came to fix it then it broke again at 4am and all night beeping at us and flashing a light. They did agree to switch our rooms, and refunded us the $20 resort fee.but feels lousy after a rough night of no sleep

I loved the place and the fact that it was situated by the lake. I would’ve given a higher rating, but the shower drain was clogged. It was fixed in a timely manner but I thought for the price per night that it was unacceptable.

Went here on the 23 of Oct to the 24th and loved it. Everything was so clean and the shower was really nice. Only down side was one of the light bulbs didn’t work and the remote was on dead barriers but overall everything was good here.

It's a great little hidden gem in north county. There are pontoon boats, watercraft, and paddle boards for rent. Hotel rooms are pretty nice if they face the water. On-site dining is also excellent. Don't go fast on the lake, but instead cruise around with the family and kids and spend some time on the lake relaxing. The lunch spot is also great

We enjoyed our stay in the one bedroom cottages. Loved our lake view patio and fire pit. The in room dining service and food was excellent. We rented a pontoon boat for a couple of hours and took our time going around the lake. It was peaceful and the wildlife was amazing.
We'd do it again.

We stayed 4 nights. Rooms are beautiful and clean. Awesome place for kids and adults to make smores around the fire. I would have given it 5 stars but one of the hot tub's jets were not working.

Our check out was at 11 we went down to IHOP for breakfast we came back at 10: 35 and they were clean our room they took our bags and our medication that was expensive and they took it and put it in the sun and they can't find our belongings I will never come to this place again

I stayed here during the summer for a few days and had an AMAZING time!
The resort included activities: golf range, bike rentals, kayaking, swimming.
Our family loved stating here and will definitely return again! The Staff was excellent in service. Everyone was so welcoming! The rooms were super clean!

We definitely plan to visit again for a relaxing, fun and most importantly local getaway. Kid friendly!

Such a fabulous time on the lake. We ordered food from the restaurant which was ready to be collected ontime. The boat dock attendant was waiting and ready to attend to us on arrival and upon coming back into dock. Really was a great time. Perfect for a quick team building event, to relax and have some fun away from the office

Nice unique hotels next to the lake. There are relaxing amenities like fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, pool, sitting by the fire pit, or just relaxing by the lake. Each day, you're allowed a complimentary kayak or paddle board, and coffee at the cafe.

Make sure you have water at night as the hotel does not supply free bottled water. The smart water is $5 each.

The breakfast is a little inconvenient. It's located at the golf club which is off the resort and about a 10 minutes walk depending where your room is.

Excellent views along with a nice property, it really is in a beautiful location. We took a boat on the lake, it was really great - we took the 2 hours which was just the right amount of time for a steady cruise all the way around. The room we stayed in was nicely appointed, although there was a few items that needed some tlc, some items were damaged (wall behind tv) and the paint didnt match (just needed to be painted). The sofa was comfortable but had some rather bad marks/ stains. One of the bedroom side tables was missing a drawer pull - silly things that could be fixed with ease.and lastly missing cutlery we had 1 full set, plus a half. However we made the most of our stay and overall we enjoyed the stay and we would stay again, just hope that it is a little better prepared next time.

We only stayed the night but the experience was fun. The fire pits and the smores was the highlight. The staff was awesome and so pleasant. The only issue was the pillows were horrible.

I used to work maintenance at lake San Marco.one of the best memories of my life. The owner is down to earth and wants the best for his guests. He hires accordingly. You will enjoy your time there. I promise.the Lake is so much cleaner! And the residents that live around the lake are friendly! EVEN After covid! Rodney Cartwright.forever grateful
It is a safe fun place.

DO NOT STAY HERE! We have stayed at many reputable hotel's, the Omni La Costa for example, and we have never been treated more poorly than as we were at the Lakehouse. These people do not care about their customers or how comfortable they are at their hotel. If you want to be disrupted because they care more about some reality TV show than their individual paying customers - good luck to you. We will never be coming back here and would recommend you do the same.

Nice ambiance in rooms. Nice pools and spas. There are firepits with smores. Right next to marina with boat rentals. Only a few boats on the water in the evening. Hotel was filming on part of property so there was limited parking.
