Lalla Grill Oceanside, Monterey CA

This restaurant was so great, we ate here twice during our visit! All of our meals were to die for! Whoever the head chef is, needs a raise. We will definitely be back!

This place has great vibes and is so stylish inside. The bar area is lovely and the restaurant has big glass windows overlooking the ocean. The service is very good, the only reason for 4 stars is the food came out too quickly. Literally took my last bite of my starter and the mains where out. Portion sizes are huge.

We had one lunch and one dinner at this place and we loved them. We didn't expect to find two different menus, so I don't deny it was a bit disappointing to not have the same thing I had the previous time. The view on the ocean is great, the place is very central, a few steps from the Acquarium.

Food was tasteless. Ordered pistachio crusted chicken salad, No chicken all crust which was burnt and flavorless. Blackened chicken pasta was bland. Great view but sticking to Del Monte location. Service can improve.

An excellent restaurant with an incredible view. Tons to choose from on Cannery Row but Lalla Grill is on my list of sure fire spots next time I'm in town.

4.3 average review? Yeah.not buying that math. We went here solely based on the reviews - dang were we disappointed. The interior looked like a dated conference room. There were gnats and flies on the interior of the windows and we spent most of our meal, swatting them away. (Yes, this is on the water, but of the 4 restaurants we went to that is on the water, it was the only one with gnats and flies.) The food was slightly below average, so much so, that it wasn't worth taking pictures of to post here. From midnight to 2am, the fish and chips came back to haunt me.

Seafood nachos and linguine with shrimp and halibut were out of this word! Best meal of our trip. Enjoyed watching the otters and sea lions.

Last time we ate here great food and service. This time loud poor service and wife chicken was so salty could not eat it all. Sat at bar and never checked on us or offered refills on drinks.

We stayed at the Spindrift Inn and the convenient location, quality of food and service was awesome. Also the beautiful view of the ocean made this restaurant a excellent choice.

You are literally only paying for the location and potentially the view if you get a window table. The food is absolutely not worth the price.

One of the best (and biggest!) bowls of cioppino I've ever had. We came here for dinner at the recommendation of our hotel. The bayside seating was full but they were immediately able to accommodate us outside on the street-side patio. The wine and cocktails were delicious as well as the flatbreads and the cioppino. The food also came out quickly, which was nice with younger kids. Highly recommend for a great, easy meal.

In summary, was told it would be a 30 minute wait. Ended up being over an hour. Rude staff.

Joined the waitlist and was told it would be a 30 minute wait for a table for 2. After waiting 45 minutes, I asked if there was any update on the table. I was rudely told there was 5 people ahead of us and a made up excuse. Left the location and went to another restaurant. I was seated and had appetizers before I received the text that the table was ready. What a joke.

Horrible experience today and we have been there multiple times before. The new management lacks customer service and in particular the VERY rude bar manager. So embarrassed I brought my friends from out of town here.

By far one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. Calamari you could barely cut and way over done, the chowder bowl was all bread, and the Diavolo pasta was a dry clump of unappealing noodles with frozen peas. Very disappointing to say the least.

Good variety of dishes like pasta, meat, hamburgers, sandwiches & shrimp in a pleasant setting.

The server was not friendly whatsoever, no smiles, and did not want to look at what I was showing him on the menu. The clam chowder was good, but the chicken flat bread was lacking flavor, and the cheese was not melted enough. The food and service were okay, but the big window views of the ocean were beautiful!

The food was good especially the clam chowder on a cold evening. I forgot to take pictures of the soup, appetizers and my husband’s steak. We were seated by the window but it was too dark outside, so no beautiful view.
Overall, this was a beautiful place to enjoy a nice dinner and I would definitely go back to try more dishes.
