Lancaster Animal Care Center

Visited a couple of weeks ago in hopes of finding our furbby. Location is very welcoming and friendly. Facility is clean and well kept.

The county needs to hire more people. The staff are very over worked. I'm a disabled military veteran. All I wanted to do, was pay the annual registration fee for my furry friend. It was a FULL hour before I was able to pay. No chairs. Nowhere to sit. It was excruciating. I was keeled over from the pain. No staff asked if I was alright or not. I was in so much pain just standing there. This office sorely needs more staff. An hour wait just to pay some money? That is absolutely unsatisfactory and unacceptable.

Reason I rate a 3 star is because this is a high kill shelter. This is due to irresponsible pet owners who fail to care for them, dump at shelters, or abandon on the streets. I give all the people who I became in contact with who work here 5 stars. They are professional, caring, and compassionate. Thank you!

These are beautiful dogs. Most of them are big dogs but just bc they're pretty doesn't mean they don't bite. Some of them seem aggressive but some don't. The cats are a little bit meaner than some of the dogs bc they clearly seem like they love to scratch. One of the dogs looked like their nails needed to be cut. They were too long but a lot of them are sweet, you just can't be afraid of these dogs. I don't know what to say about the employees tho just that one of the dogs looks like a working dogs but it said that it was a pitbull but it's not a pitbull. Sometimes the cages don't look too clean but I'm sure the employees clean it.

I came here to do my 3 hours community service I was able to do it that same day and was able to finish that same day

The staff in front office are lazy n all they do is eat n yell at customers not very happy about their work at all

They have nothing for shelter and help, they leave animals that are abandoned helpless and one ends up leaving them because they can't take care of themselves and they close the doors and don't help anything. Cat with 5 kittens and they don't want to help her leave her where she was found

I Founf A Husky When in Middle Of A Wind Storm it Was Really Cold So I Took HimHere & They Were So Kind & Understanding Why I Couldn't Keep Him They Made Space For Him Evendough There Was None The Person I Spoke To Was Very Caring.

Very friendly and clean animal shelter. My visit there was great a friend of mine was picking up his dog and she was getting fixed, she came out just fine had medication for a couple of days and back to the normal heart and her meaning a mixed terrier.
