Las Casuelas Original

The best Mexican food! I had a single taco. Fantastic service as well! My friends had enchiladas. We sat on the patio and watched people go by. Great historic little restaurant, around since 1958. Love this place!

Eating at the Original Las Casuelas restaurant was the worst restaurant experience we've ever had. There were three in our party and they sat us down but we didn't see anyone again for at least 15 minutes, and it was hot outside and so we wanted water but couldn't get anyone during that 15 minutes. Finally the waitress showed up and took our order. That's when we finally got some water and chips/salsa. We waited a very long time for the food and when it did, the waitress only brought one person's order. Then 5 - 10 later another plate showed up, and then another 5 - 10 minutes my meal showed up. By that point I was irritated and cancelled my order telling the waitress that ALL of our food should be delivered at the same time, not ten minutes apart. I asked two people to get the manager for me but the manager never showed up.

Each time the waitress brought water or our food plates, she just dropped it loudly on our table without looking at us and then left right away. She wasn't mad at us because nothing had really been said to each other, she was just moving fast, dropped the drinks/food down hard, and left each time.

We saw the busboy cleaning table and he just wiped all of the chips and table mess on to the booth chairs and the floor leaving a huge mess everywhere. So the next customer coming to that table would have had a mess all over their seats and the floor around the booth.

In the bathroom the soap dispenser was full but they had it set so low that almost no soap came out. I had to hold my hand under it 8 times just to barely get enough soap to wash my hands. Most people, including their cooks, are probably not going to stand there and try to get enough soap over and over again until they get enough soap to clean their hands before going back to work preparing our food.

Although this was our first time at this location, we've been to the Las Casuelas Terraza many times over the years and we've never had a problem at the other location but the owners of Las Casuelas should be ashamed of themselves for allowing one of their restaurant to be so bad. It reflects poorly on them and all of their restaurants.

Terrible experience calling in to as about Gluten Free options for severe Celiac. The man on the phone laughed at me, said "gluten is only in flour so if you eat corn tortillas you'll be fine" and tried to hang up. I got in another question about whether they include soy sauce in any meat marinades before he could hang up. He laughed again and said "soy sauce is only in the Chinese and Japanese food". Clearly clueless about any topic relating to food allergies.

This was the absolutely worst restaurant experience I have ever had! We were completely ignored by the staff, as we approached the hostess and waiters about getting a table outside. They weren’t that busy, and they had lots of available tables but none were clean. Someone finally seated us at a dirty table and they took away the plates, and just brushed the food off onto the floor, and didn’t bother to wipe down the table. We asked, and they said they would be right back to do it. Never saw her again. Service was appallingly slow and inattentive. Food was served cold and soggy, really, really small portions. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. It was a train wreck!

Came for a michelada, asked what beer and I chose a modelo. They brought out a ice cold cup with a little bit of michelada mix, if there were more michelada mix it would have been better. It also came with chips and salsa.
Food looks decent and maybe I’ll try something else next time. Took a long time to bring the check.

This place was Amazing. Nice ambiance and GREAT service. Food did take a while to come out. Food was so tasty. We got so full. We ate indoors. I will return here when in town. A pleasant experience, besides waiting for the food.

Where to begin.smallest $10 large margarita I've ever had 6oz glass filled with ice and maybe 4oz of cocktail. Boring almost commercial tasting salsa. Carnitas that were so hard, as if leftovers from yesterday with a bit of fresh thrown in. That should be enough. Too many legit restaurants in the valley, check out your local strip malls and avoid those trading on history.

Not sure how it manages to get good reviews. The vegetable combo was lacking in any taste and totally bland. Margaritas were good but doesn't make up for poor food

Went for a mini vacay to Palm Springs and ate here. Customer service was really bad, we waited for our order for at least 45 minutes. I heard one of the servers passed by me cursing underneath her breath! The food I ordered which was really simple (Salad in taco shell with steak) but the meat was not cooked properly. We didn’t want to make a big deal since we were really hungry and we didnt want them to mess with our food & we’ve already been neglected since we were seated. Didn’t even put water on our table neither did the server check if we needed anything. Never coming back here again.

Most of the dishes our party of seven ordered were unimpressive. Sauce over the Chile relleno tasted like it was out of a bottle. Ceviche was the only dish that was as good as we hoped.

I understand restaurants are short staffed right now and I feel bad yo have to leave this comment. The service was really bad and it didn't seem like they were overwhelmed. It took over 20 minutes between getting drink to asking for our meal. Then it took over 40 minutes to get our meals after that. There was no apologies or excuses. The servers seemed barley concerned about our service. The food was good tho ️

Went on Thursday. Had reservations and still waited 30 minutes to be seated. Waited another 45 minutes and didn't even get a drink order in. Got up and just left. Horrible horrible service and management wasn't any better. Pretty much said we just have to wait. Idk how they're still in business

Maybe shabby is the term. Food was decent. Ice Tea good. Service friendly & prompt. Men's toilet wobbled. Very casual. And the street noisy.

Loved our visit. The staff were very friendly, very helpful and the food was excellent. It was nice to have such traditional Mexican food here. Highly recommend this place.

The food is prepared to perfection and is very tasty! The Cadillac is on point! And the entire meal is sizeable and filling. I am returning for 2nd's. Thank you.

My family has been coming here for decades and for good reason - fantastic food, great portions, kind staff, and excellent prices. I always make a stop here when I'm in the desert to visit family, and it stands out as a shining star in an area with great mexican food.

A great Mexican spot, you're greeted with chips and salsa, the food taste good and they make you feel welcomed. I highly recommend!
