Las Islas Family Medical Group reviews
11I call and call and call. Over 45 min before hanging up because they have NEVER once answered. I was really counting on Las Islas, went to Magnolia instead. Another place to avoid, but at least they answer the phone!
Make you wait more than an hour to answer your call. Just to tell you that you have to wait more than three months to reschedule your appointment ridiculous.
They do not even deserve 1 star. Administrative personnel that staff the front office is different ever time and everyone who you speak with is aggressive and rude. Medical staff provide similar service and th doctors are brash and don’t even pretend to care. This clinic was referred to me by my insurance, Ventura County Health Care Plan, but I believe they also offer free services to the community. I have had exactly5 visits with them and I had to go elsewhere, I cannot abide being treated poorly. Also don’t be fooled, West Ventura Orthopedics And Podiatry Clinic staff the same team of medical professionals. If one of these happen to be the only clinic you can go to, good luck! However if at all possible invest in a FSA and go out of network, you will find medical staff and personnel who actually care and will help you. I suggest Ventura Orthopedic Medical Group, they have offices in Ventura and Oxnard. Their facility is clean and staff are actually helpful. Doctors offer solutions and genuinely care. Again don’t be confused, West Ventura Orthopedics And Podiatry Clinic and Las Islas Orthopedics is one and the same.
Getting thru by telephone is almost impossible, much less having them return a call within 3 hrs if you leave a message
I made an appointment and they let me after 7 months, apart from the staff at the entrance, the assistants are very disgusting, it seems they don't like their work, lousy service.
I wouldn’t give any starts
They don’t help you
If you don’t feel good they treat people like if they are less
Very sad
I have never been so humiliated in my life. "Dr". Juan vega is the worse person i have ever met. He wasted 8 months of my life. He is so old school he should just stick to help birth children and not with surgery, he disrespected me by saying i needed a psychological evaluation for him to even THINK of getting me sterilized so basically he called me crazy and for what reason exactly? He also called me "fertile" YUCK! Women are not here only to reproduce and do lazy man child chores its 2023. He should of just straight out told me he wont sterilize me instead of making me come back 3 more times, oh and he wanted to use Filshie clips! Thats no longer standard practice for sterilization its now Bilateral salpingectomy so cancer can be reduced and an ectopic pregnancy is impossible, also filshie clips can fall off and puncture organs, how exciting!
He also did not want to do my other important surgery to help with periods that had been going on for a YEAR, he simply never called me back even after waiting for 3 months.
So please do not come here if you are a young woman seeking sterilization because "Doctors" here are still living in 1920.
Also do not waste your time calling the office they NEVER answer.
Horrible service. I had taken my mom there and they are rude and take so long to help! They make u wait on calls and supposedly need to send a message to the doctor but the doctors never reply.
This group was assigned to me by the State of California and Gold Coast Health Care. The state has paid them for 15 months. I have been calling them, to make an appointment to see a Doctor. THEY WON’T EVEN ANSWER THE PHONE. I have called 7 times over the last 48 hours. They can’t be bothered to see me. I changed my provider. New provider answered instantly, and I have and appointment with my new doctor. Thinking about Las Islas? Just, no.
If I could give 0 stars, this would be the case. I have been with this clinic for about 3 years. I have only been seen 4 times (twice this month). The first time (what I would believe being) was misdiagnosed with a thyroid disorder.
Always took an hour, if not longer, to answer the phones to schedule an appointment. So just leave a message they will try to call you back the next day (at an inconvenient time).
Finally, I got an appointment. They tried to tell you they are booked for appointments until they see one free (this week or the next day).
After they rescheduled my appointment twice then they surprise me with a "before you come in Thursday we need labs Wednesday" (it was Tuesday. Being informed all this when they knew weeks prior to my original appointment is pretty unprofessional). I get it they have other people to worry about.
I get through my appointment to find out my hormones are normal. Until I tell them I stopped taking the medication a year ago. Then it's "these hormones seem a little high".
Not only that. The same appointment I tried to get a TB test on that Thursday. (You know 2 birds, one stone. Also, who knows the next time I'll be seen again.) You know you have to get that read in 48 hrs. Well, I guess whoever gave me the test didn't realize they would be closed on Saturday. She was definitely aware they were closed Sunday because she was very adamant about returning on Saturday.the day they are closed.
Lots of misinformation and lack of communication.
