Las Tapatias Taqueria reviews
15Torta and curly fries hit the spot. Torta bread is pressed on Panini grill which helps the bread hold together.
Los Tapatias was recommended by a lovely Lady who said their fried mojarra fish was a favorite. We got there past 7PM for our first try and sadly no fish left. Oh well, my female companion ordered 2 Ceviche Tostadas, under $10 both? She liked the way it was presented, all dicing small while nice amount. She added extra hot sauce as she enjoyed one. Gave me the second one, and even though it was good enough, I found the food a tad above average. Tamale dry, $4.99?
Tortillas chips in a small quantity were offered, and their red sauce was average at best. They had a few in their salsa bar, but after trying a greenish supposedly hot sauce, very liquified, not impressed.
I ordered Camarones Sandiados$ for $17.99. Grilled with shell on, hot sauce covering a nice amount of medium to large size shrimp. Beans, rice, and a little wore out salad. A silly quesadilla was served, plain under average. I prefer no shell but overall easy to finish, with corn tortillas on the side. 4 Stars.
Flan for dessert, $4.99. Nice version, nice size compared to other places. 4 Stars. Water tasted fine. Service was pleasant but a bit slow. Total w gratuity $44+? Nice regional music. 3.5 Stars.
Decent food, great service, great outside area to sit and enjoy your meal! They also server beer which was nice. Reasonably priced as well.
I have a small window for lunch, and I was able to get my meal with plenty of time to enjoy before returning to work!
Definitely a good place to eat. Went with a couple of friends everyone agreed it was really good
Amazing! I got the carne asada plate and the meat was so tender and had so much flavor! I will be bringing my family back ️ not to mention the staff was so nice and welcoming!
Great flavor and presentation. Lots of choices for salsa. We really enjoyed the meal and will be back.
Crispy tacos are decent, first few times they were amazing, not so much any more, open later than most fair prices
This place has some of the best Mexican food in town, especially the barria tacos. Tonight the wait was a little longer than usual and the staff offered us a free drink on the house, I got their house made pineapple juice which was delicious. They didn’t need to do that at all, but it was a great gesture and I will definitely be coming back for more.
Wow, Las Tapatias is the real deal. The owners family is from Guadalajara. They own restaurants there. They bring that experience to Chico and they know what they are doing. Their salsa is made fresh and it's my favorite. I haven't tried anything on the menu I didn't like. If you haven't discovered this place, give it a shot. You'll love it.

This is still one of my favorites. Their salsa is the best in town.
Tasty authentic mexican cuisine at a fair price. Expect to pay around $10 to $15 per person for lunch. Good portions served hot and fresh. Lunch time can get busy so expect a delay between 11: 30am to 1pm. The chips and salsa are complimentary along with a great salsa bar. After 15 plus visits my experience of Las Tapatias is consistently positive. It's one of my favorite Mexican food restaurants in the area.
Looks a bit outdated but the street tacos were delicious. I had the chicken and asada street tacos. If you like spicy definitely try the chili oil. Definitely stopping by if ever in the area. Wish I had photos to post.
Tasty food but their menu only lists main ingredients for burritos, not all ingredients (eggs, lettuce were a surprise in mine.unrolled the burrito to take these out.) I had to wait 20+ minutes for a to-go order around 1130-12 and they got 1/2 my order wrong. Maybe not their strongest day, will give them another chance because the food tasted good.
I typically don't take the time to write reviews but this very disappointing despite the raving reviews. Last week I ordered a shrimp taco salad to go. I live 6 minutes away from the restaurant. I picked up the food promptly and drove home in excitement because I was starving after a long day's work. The fried taco shell was very small, much like a desert shell, which I thought was unusual. The salad was quite soupy and the taco shell very soggy by the time I got home, which made me frustrated. The shrimp was tasty though (only good thing about the salad) but the portion size was very small for the hefty price. Not worth the money; you're better off getting a similar salad from Taco Bell, at least you know what to expect for the price you pay. I won't be going back to this restaurant.
