Dr. Woo changed my life. For three decades I wore glasses, for three decades I awoke to a blurry world, always cognizant of the location of my glasses, planning activities and vacations around rx lens availability, fearing the loss of my vision in an accidental snap, seeing the world through an ever present apparatus on my face, hiding behind a rim shield. Where I was blind I can now see. I have perfect vision, and the world is brighter. Dr. Woo took great care with my eyes and gave them what nature couldn’t. My only regret is not living this way sooner. Thank you Dr Woo and LEC.

I started wearing glasses since high school. As the years went by my vision started getting worse to the point I could not see from afar. I constantly kept either forgetting my glasses or misplacing them and that was super annoying! I finally decided to get rid of my glasses and I can definitely say getting Lasik was the BEST thing I could’ve ever done. I’m so thankful for the great care I received at Laser Eye Center!

I had lasik with Dr. Woo and she's the best! She's kind, professional and well trained. I made sure to do my research and I trusted her with my eyes. The entire process was pretty easy. They do a great job of explaining the surgery process and checking if you're a good candidate for lasik vs prk. The office staff, nurses, and optometrists were all friendly and kind. I have an eye condition that can increase my risk for retinal detachment. They were knowledgeable and made sure to take the precautions to prevent any complications related to that. Also a great bonus is that they have a zero interest financing plan which makes it more affordable than having to pay up front. Overall I'm very happy with my results and thankful to be able to see!

My name is Natalie. I went to Laser Eye Center for my 1st consultation to the Downtown LA office. All the staff there were very nice. I was seen by Dr. Elhaj and was told by him that I had Pterygium on my both eyes. I was referred to the Cataract Department and I met Geraldine and Blanca, both were very professional and friendly. They explained to me what to expect before and after the procedure. I finally met my Surgeon Dr. Woo. She is also very nice and professional. She answered all my questions and helped me understand how the procedure was. The day of my procedure, I felt nervous but the technicians made me feel comfortable and not to nervous. Dr. Woo was talking to me while she was doing my procedure and explained to me what she was doing. It was very fast and no pain AT ALL. I just want to thank all the staff from Laser Eye Center and especially Dr. Woo who is a genius. I can't wait to have my 2nd eye done.

I had PRK surgery here. Got there super early and left 5 hrs later. Had alot of tests done and papers to sign. The paperwork could be given to patients days before the day of surgery. To proof read everything well. The staff was nice. I had to wait an hour for
dilation of eyes to receed. Seen the surgeon for about 2 min.
Now the surgery itself.it was painful. If they put numbing eye drops on.it felt like they didn't. I was ready to jump off the bed from the pain n pressure. I can smell my eye ball smell from the brushing or wuever is being done to my cornea. Burnt eyeballs.lol
Anyway.a male nurse was so comforting to me.not the surgeon.seemed kinda cold.
I was is so much pain on my way home n the following 2 days. I never take pain killers and I was taking pain killers every 4 hrs. 2 different eyedrops every 4 hrs.n regular eyedrops every hour for lubrication. I slept all day to heal faster the 2 days after the 4th day i began to feel better n my vision started getting better. I suggest you have someone help you while you heal. I couldnt open my eyes n needed someone for everything. No eye makeup for about 3 -4 weeks. I suggest you begin taking vitamin C atleast 2 weeks before surgery. So like 2 weeks later I was 20/20 vision.
Was it worth it? Well, at 1st I said no.because it was painful.
. But tday I feel IT WAS DEFINITELY WORTH IT!
I don't think it was expensive for what I got.
Under 5,000 and they offer financing. No interest.
SO Thanks laser eye center. I can see the world without glasses!

I’m sitting here outside of the laser eye center location on Bixel and Wilshire with my mom. When my mom walked in there was a lady complaining that the clinic was not keeping their end of the deal. They told us that as advertised on the radio that they would charge my mom $2100 for each eye they operated on. My mom paid a deposit and set the appointment for the first eye about a week later. Today Saturday March 5 2022, I brought my mom to her appointment and when they had her sitting on the operating chair (after they had put some numbing drops on her eyes) they told her she needed to pay double. $2100 for 1 half of the eye and $2100 for the other half. Double the price out of no where right before or at the beginning of the procedure. The man said he would not continue until she got up and paid the cashier more money. What an inconvenience having set aside time for the appointment and then trying to upcharge customers during the beginning of the procedure. This place is taking advantage of people. Stay away. Do not rust them.

Hi! I had a great experience and Im really happy with my vision! Everyone is very friendly, professional and answer all your questions. I got my surgery last November and during that day, Dr. Shammas and his team walk you through the entire process which is super quick! After a couple days I was able to see everything and I glad I got it done! Very happy with my results

I went to my initial consultation at the downtown office, and I was amazed. I’ve had a couple of eye exams with my primary care doctor but nothing like this they were very thorough and explained step by step what they were doing and what the goal of the tests were. I was little nervous, but Dr. Elhaj eased my nerves and made me feel comfortable with the whole exam. It was an easy and painless process with a very caring and professional staff.

I've been thinking about getting LASIK for years now - I grew up wearing hard contacts to sleep and switched over to soft contacts a few years ago in anticipation of getting LASIK.

Fast forward a few years and two consultations later, I found Dr. Rany Woo and as they say, third time's the charm! I really liked how Dr. Rany Woo and her staff made me comfortable and confident in the process. What differentiated her from other doctors was really her in depth understanding of the eye as she is a specialized eye surgeon who specializes in cataracts and different types of eye issues. She was also very caring and took the time to explain the process with me and work through my nervousness as well.

What I did not like about the previous consultations I visited was that the other centers felt like LASIK farms and people were constantly in and out. I felt like this company was much more thorough and actually took the time to ensure everything was okay. This center also does day of exams to ensure that your eyes are still consistent and that nothing has changed between the two appointments.

All in all, I was very thankful to have finally found Laser Eye Center and Dr. Rany Woo. My vision is now 20/20 and it's been a life changing experience to say the least!

Receptionist are very kind and professional, doctor and assistants made me feel confortable, they explained me the process and answer all my questions before the procedure, they are very gentle, assistant knew very well what she was doing that made me feel I am in good hands. I had the best experience I could ever hope for. The staff was Amazing, the results are incredible. I'm extremely happy and grateful for the result.

So far a mixed feelings. While the service was good to excelent. I accidentally found that I was overcharged by 1400 dollars for the same exact procedure. I feel they should be more careful about leaving patient information over the desk. Because of that I only give them 4 stars. As of the surgery it has been a week and today had my second eye done. So far satisfied.

The evaluation process was very thorough and smooth and the doctor was very professional, respectful and empathetic to my individual needs. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was made very welcome. I can’t wait until I get my laser procedure so I can see better. Yenealem Dejene

Doctor Woo is amazing. She was very gentle during the procedure. I was very nervous about getting my procedure done, but the staff members and the doctor made me feel very comfortable. It was a very positive experience.

After years of thinking I wouldn’t be a good lasik candidate due to my severe astigmatism, I finally went in for a consultation at laser eye center. The consultation was free and extremely thorough and I didn’t feel rushed. I could see they were taking their time to make sure they gave me the best procedure plan. They also tested to see if I could get Contoura, the newest type of lasik that maps more points on your eye and let’s you see in HD / brighter colors. At the consultation Dr. Woo said I would probably be a good candidate for Contoura but would need to retest on surgery day again to make sure and on surgery day it was confirmed that I could get Contoura! I love that Dr. Woo is on the more cautious side and won’t recommend anything she doesn’t think I would 100% be a good candidate for. Fast forward to surgery day, I was retested, prepped for surgery, taken back to the operating room, and then the whole procedure is over in less than 15 mins. There was no pain, just some pressure from the suction of your eye for the first few minutes but the laser portion is absolutely painless. It felt like I was sitting in my car with the windshield wipers on. There was a slight burning smell that was probably around 30 seconds an eye. I was ready for it so the smell didn't shock me but I was surprised that I couldn’t feel any of the lasers. After the procedure, Dr. Woo checked my eyes and I was able to go home. We scheduled a check up for the next day and I already had 20/20 vision I don’t normally write reviews but Dr. Woo and her team were so kind and caring the entire experience. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my Lasik. Thank you Dr. Woo for my new vision!

My experience with laser eye center was amazing. Everything up to my surgery day was just great and they always kept me informed of everything that is going on and that they are going to do. The cherry on top of it all was Dr Rany Woo, she was so amazing and I couldn't ask for a better doctor to be honest. I never felt uncomfortable with anything and right after my surgery I didnt feel a thing I just felt amazing with no pain or anything. I am really grateful to Dr.woo and her whole team for giving me a new look on life.

I am overjoyed with the results of my eye surgery. I used to struggle to find my glasses when I take them off but now I'm able to see from distances that isn't easy for others.

I am posting for my father who recently got laser eye surgery at this location. My father and I had a wonderful experience, starting from the staff that greeted us and ending with the doctors that attended my father. Staff is very professional and answered all of our questions and concerns. My father felt comfortable going into the surgery and came out feeling great. I would definitely recommend this place!
