Deserves LESS than ZERO stars but posting to warn everyone. This law firm has failed and disappointed in many ways. Rarely any responses back for 9 months now. They will keep demanding more money, to help make sure that you LOSE, and stress you out more keeping you in the dark stonewalling you. Now I need to find a new attorney just to finally get the ball rolling to protect myself and my children. MORE stress! They do not care about protecting children and families. Will NEVER recommend to anyone that I know in the CA State.

I worked with Jennifer on my case and was not satisfied it took her lots of time and repeated herself a lot and can't believe the money they asked from me and after 19 months the case still was not resolved So disappointed had to let her go.

I was promised 2 call backs and never received them. If you’re not interested in a case just say it don’t ignore people. My case is super simple I just wanted to change my daughters middle name.

I worked with Bobby Luna for a short period. His staff was amazing and they answered all of my questions. They made me feel right at home when I was going through a tough divorce. I was active duty Navy at the time of the of his representation. I was really upset with how little Bobby would work with me and fight for me in court. I ended up bending over backwards and giving pretty much everything to my ex. People hire attorneys to get legal advice and would want an "expert" in the legal field to tell someone they are agreeing to a very bad deal. At the end of our hearing and the decision for custody and child support and alimony to be paid, he told me if I could get a job closer that we would be able to contest the decision and get a reevaluation. Turns out when you're in the military, you can't just quit and leave where you are stationed. I'm not sure if they understood our leave and earnings statements (paychecks for the military). That was a huge eye opener for me. I was strapped for cash and couldn't sit down and talk with all my attorneys since I wasn't in the Sacramento area at the time. Oh and the day before my court date, he gave me a 10 minute call to make sure I was ok with everything. That time right there would've been a great time to give me his "professional advice". I'd look for another attorney if you're looking here.

Note

Jennifer H.represented me for about two years on a case involving my son. She told me everything I wanted to hear and made me believe we would get the ruling that was in the best interest of my child. My son’s mom and I had court ordered coparenting therapy which revealed that mom had a vendetta against me and was completely unwilling to coparent, as indicated in a letter by the therapist. I provided mountains of evidence to Jennifer that our son’s mother was unfit and neglectful, including removing him from therapy, and refusing his well-child exams for several years. After 17 assaults in school, mom made the unilateral decision to put our son in homeschool even though I had 50/50 legal rights; this was a violation of our custody order but Jennifer botched this too. Mom also had several CPS calls against her from various mandated reporters. Jennifer was utterly incompetent in filing motions to the court, so much so that on our last mediation visit, the mediator misread the filed documents and believed the evidence was against me despite it being against the mother. I was stated as a psychological risk to my son based on the documents that were against the mother, which means the mediator believed these actions were a psychological risk to our son, it’s just unfortunate she did not see it was mom doing these things. Every item the mediator detailed against me was actually done by the mother. 15 thousand dollars and two years later, I lost custody of my son and was told that judges only review evidence at trials which would cost at least another 50 thousand dollars. If you care about your child (ren), this office does not. They do everything by the book — the checkbook that is. Please spend your hard earned money elsewhere where you may have an actual chance at saving the relationship between you and your child (ren). This is the biggest regret of my life and the damage done to my son is permanent.

I have used the law office of Bobby Luna a couple of times. Every time I have used them the staff and Mr. Luna himself have been great. They always return my messages and stay in contact with me through out my cases. I would definitely recommend them.

I needed a family attorney quickly and hired the Luna firm. From the first interaction they were quick to advise what actions I should take and answered my questions. I felt they're first intention was to EARN my business by showing they are willing and able to help. They were attentive and quickly responded to my request. Anna Brown-Dawson either always took my calls or responded in an excellent timely manner. I was very surprised and shocked of the negative reviews. Ms. Brown-Dawson was EXCELLENT! I absolutely recommend her and realize let her do her job she is the professional. I never felt anything other than her attentiveness and will to help achieve what's best for my situation. Thank you Ms. Brown-Dawson and the Luna firm.

Bobby luna, Anna Brown and staff have been absolutely marvelous in representing me in my custody issues. They took the time to listen and understand my issues and completely turned things around for me. They deserve more then the 5 stars that I gave!

Look family court is a fraud and the entities within it are committing racketeering against the "non custodial " parents
I first contacted this law firm and set up a consultation.

Consultation cost was $275.
Ms. Holdener hourly rate is $275 per hour.

I spoke with Jennifer Holdener and she answered each question I presented.
A few weeks later I hired Ms. Hardner to represent my case.
The retention fee was $3,500
I then spoke with Ms. Holdener about my case and what I should expect as well as what to prepare for my case.
Ms. Holdener answered my questions but didn't tell me to prepare anything. I asked her should I collect anything or bring anything to go over with her. She looked at me with a blankly expression.
I asked should I bring text messages or other things that would help with my case. She says, " Yeah that would work. "

Ms. Holdener made sure that the other party was served and an ex parte had been sent to the court in a timely manner.

In the mean time I had mediation coming and wasn't prepared for it as again my legal representation left me in the dark.
What I ended up preparing is what I should've had done before mediation!

My mediator was dismissive and her personal identity politics blinded her judgement.

After my mediation I was not contacted by my lawyer to see how things went. In fact I was the one that had to constantly contact them throughout this ordeal, unless they wanted money, then they had no issue with sending me an email.

So what I ended up doing on my own with out legal council was preparing my own case by forensically going over things that needed to be presented to the judge to show my character and the events the lead me to being in family court.

1) text messages
2) character statements
3) witness statements
4) Time line of motivation
5) CPS report and allegations
6) parenting plan current and future
7) photos and videos that establish relationships
8) state child support paperwork from beginning to end
9) police event number

After preparing all this info into PDF and in numerical order I emailed it to Ms. Holdener.
Again I had to call to make sure she got it and that it was sent to our judge.

My judge was John. P. Winn
" Judge Winn does expect you to be in business attire regardless of zoom.
He also is no bs kind of man and will not tolerate rude behavior this to include interrupting others. "

The next thing I got was an invoice requesting an additional $750 to continue working on my case. I paid the invoice but I felt rather confused as to what could've cost $3,500 as the only things that have been done was the serving, paper work and the filling cost.

Hearing #1
I was e-mailed the hyper links to the zoom hearing. Ms. Holdener was quick and went over what she felt needed to be established with our judge. The judge at the end decided to ignore the mediator suggestions. As I not the other party could come to an agreement we where set for trial. I know that Ms. Holdener could've pushed for my needs as well as my kids needs but she didn't.

Now, going forward to trial I was emailed an invoice for an additional $6,500. At this point I was tired of not being represented in the way I needed to be. So I spoke to the law firm Kevin on how I felt and what I had contributed. Kevin agreed that I had done a lot and understood my perspective. Kevin told me he would talk with Ms. Holdener and see about working a better price and that I would be called back in a day or two, that never happened!

I called back a few weeks later and spoke with Ms. Holdener about my issue. At which point she said the price is what it is and there's nothing she can do but understands if I can't spend that.

I discontinued with their services.

I wouldn't recommend this law firm for the following reasons.
1) I was left alone without proper guidance.
2) communication only came from me.
3) I had to figure what was needed for my hearing and eventually my trial. Family court is like criminal court, you need to prove yourself beyond a doubt!
4) the total cost I spent was $4,525 as well as they wanted an additional $6,500.

If you want a job handled right then Bobby is where you go. He knows the law very well and and the judges listen to him with regard to application of the law. I hired Bobby originally based on doing my research and thinking about who I did not want on the other side of the table. However, experience has shown me Bobby is much more then that. He knows law well, is a great negotiator, and will bring a spirit of bringing resolve, while getting what you need accomplished. I know when Bobby gets involved you will get the best possible outcome from your situation.

I would never recommend this unprofessional person that calls himself a lawyer! He works with feelings and must be desperate for money, just because we didn’t hire him for the first court date we had but we planned to hire him for 2nd court (save some money) literally the day of our appt 30mins before our appt he has his assistant call to let us know he doesn’t wanna handle our case because we didn’t hire him the first go round, so he was feeling some kind of way and literally wasted 1 week of our time that we could have been looking for other lawyers! Very unprofessional!

My experience with this law firm was definitely positive. They provided me with a lot of information and how to handle court interviews and counseled me with reviews on custody. I ended up winning custody of my daughter and I am thankful everyday. Family court is a difficult jungle to navigate and you don't want to be caught unprepared. There never is a one sided victory but there is fair and that is what you really hope for. Thank you Luna family law for helping me get a fair deal and providing a very good moral support and backing me when I needed it most.

Bobby did a fantastic job representing me. The attorney I had before Bobby bumbled just about every aspect of my case. You definitely get your money’s worth with Bobby. Highly recommend
