Laws Railroad Museum & Historical Site reviews
16A really fantastic place to stop and explore. So many fascinating things to see from the past 100+ years. Expect to spend a good two hours here, at least. If you happen to be in the area, it's definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend!
I loved the fact that it's managed by volunteers of the community. And that they know the history about their town. Very special
PHENOMENAL. My wife and I drove by the front of the place, and it looked small so we almost didn't stop. We were extremely pleasantly surprised at the depth of this museum figuratively and literally. Don't pass this up.
A great place to spend half a day to explore some history even if your not a railroad fan.
A great way to spend a few hours. We enjoyed the old buildings and learning about the history of the area.
Great museum with an excellent collection of turn of the 20th century artifacts and antiques. Well organized, maintained and informative. Worth a couple of hours!
It is a great place to learn about the history of the area regarding railroads, mining, and life in the 1800s. The staff of volunteers are very knowledgeable and have put together an impressive collection of functioning railroad and mining equipment, and are eager to demonstrate its use.
This is a must see if you're in the area. Plan to spend at least two hours to ensure you see everything. A $10 donation is requested. This is much more than a railroad museum. There are buildings showing all aspects of early 1900's living. There are also displays on historical mining operations and minerals. Look for the display showing Scheelite (a tungsten mineral) that fluoresces under UV light.
This place is hands down one of the best museums I have ever been to this place is a must see
This museum is well worth the stop.
Give yourself at least two hours to see the exhibits on early turn of the century artifacts, trains, Native American items and special wagon collection.
This place is fun to visit, but I agree they don't treat volunteers well. If you choose to volunteer here, be advised that these people are not your friends.
Very informative about all the displays. Happy with my husband's choice for us to visit this establishment. Found a lot of new OLD things.
Absolutely a must stop if you're traveling through the area and have a few hours to burn. Super nice folks at this place, educational and entertaining for the children. Got a really nice demonstration of the entire gold mining process as it was done back in the day. Also gave a nice suggestion of another stop along our journey.
Its must see. Bring the family friendly museum lots of space to walk and see all the historical attractions
One of the best museums in California, full of artifacts and very informative, great collection of antiques and very kind docent! I have visit this place a couple time and always see something different! They did a lots renovations and conservation this summer!
Great museum. Much more interesting than more recognized ones. Plenty to see, and a great atmosphere of early 20th century. Donations expected of 10 USD per adult.
