Layla at MacArthur Place

Had brunch Christmas morning with the family. Great food, wonderful service, and didn't break the bank.

Dined here on Christmas night and had the heated patio all to ourselves! Our dog was welcome on the patio also. For the holiday, they offered a special holiday menu with wine pairings. The food and wine selections were excellent.

Had high expectations when pre-booking a meal for Christmas Eve dinner.

Unfortunately, it looks like their A-team was most likely at home for the night, as our steak was way overcooked (ordered medium rare, received medium well+, sent it back, received only a slightly less overcooked piece of meat and just accepted it), and the shrimp were utterly devoid of flavor and texture - like they were just thawed from frozen and heated up for 30 seconds in a very thin garlic sauce.

Our server forgot a couple things we requested, but was pleasant overall.

The dessert plate was decent, so props to the pastry/dessert chef (s).

A solid, well-executed Christmas prix fixe menu. We did Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day lunch.

For dinner - The scallops were succulent and the pork chops were so tasty. The pork was a thick cut and I was worried it wouldn't be cooked through, but I was wrong. The Parker rolls in a small cast iron pan was amazing. The desserts were also good.

For breakfast, started with the avocado toast with salmon and bread from Della Fattoria. Entree was the steak and eggs. Hubby got the omelette. Coffee was strong and not overly fruity or acidic. I heard it was from Healdsburg (Wolf?).

Loved having the best meals we had this year and definitely the highlight of the holidays. The service was top notch - attentive but not overly fake friendly. I was so impressed by the professionalism of all the staff we encountered during our stay. Please keep it up. We are locals who love to support Sonoma County businesses and happy to see when it's done well.

The environment is very beautiful, the meals are exquisite and attentive.
The hash brown is fried just right, crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside, with just the right amount of saltiness.
When we mentioned that the yolks of the eggs Benedict were overcooked, they offered to pay for two cups of coffee for free. The service was perfect!
A perfect breakfast experience.

Book my stay at MacArthur Park for my birthday and made reservations at Layla as I’ve been wanting to try. I was NOT disappointed. The service was top notch and the food was perfectly plated and so clean. Portions were perfect and wine was outstanding. We went back in for breakfast and once again everything was over the top as well.
This is one restaurant/ hotel we will be coming back too! Thanks MacArthur Park for a wonderful birthday weekend!

Very elegant bar with nice selection of lite fare.attentive service and well appointed design elements. Cozy.

Lovely place but yellow jackets made eating outside impossible. Please control this problem. Eggs Benedict was awful. Undercooked eggs, no flavor, mushy spinach and tomato, $7 extra for fatty bacon. Eggs Benedict comes with ham. Ham should not be extra. Would have ordinarily sent it back but didn’t want to make a fuss with my guest. If you try to “elevate” Eggs Benedict, please do it well. The side salad was nice however. Go to Garden Court Cafe for good Eggs Benedict.

Food was excellent and the service was wonderful! But was very, very warm on the patio outside with the overhead heaters on even though it was perfectly comfortable outside and they weren’t necessary.

The food was excellent. They were very professional while serving and giving us advice on what to eat. This place is very clean and well decorated. Definetely on my list to return.

Amending my review from a year ago. I love this place. The service and food are excellent. They've really stepped up their game and this is now one of my favorite places to go in Sonoma. They also have killer cocktails from their talented bar staff. Their outside dining is my favorite in town. I had a group of 12 here for my birthday this year and they did an amazing job all around.

Really like the atmosphere. The restaurant and the bar offer very student vibes. I like both. Maybe a slight preference for the bar. Service is slow and not very attentive. For the prices they are charging, you expect a much higher level of service.

Staff were attentive, the facility was very nice, but the menu was uninspiring. The pork chop was half fat, the pasta dish portions were tiny, the risotto looked white like uncle Ben’s rice, and had very little flavor (very little stock or cheese). This place is highly overrated.

We enjoyed lunch here while staying in Sonoma and had a wonderful experience. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, and I had the best espresso martini. The ambiance & aesthetic was lovely, as well, and our waitress was very kind and helpful. The valet parking was much appreciated, too. Only wish we had been able to fit dinner at Layla into our itinerary, because I’m sure that would have been great, too!

Incredible meal and atmosphere, service was excellent, and the wait staff engaging and polite. We enjoyed the rabbit fusilli and pochetta dinners. Both were very good

The bartenders are some of the best in town Sean and Roscoe and the service staff is wonderful always smiley and happy.
