Le Méridien Delfina Santa Monica reviews
15Loved the view, stayed here for 6 days. Very close to the beach and lots of restaurants nearby, our room door is not closing properly though, so everytime we close it when we thought it's close all the way but it wasn't. Didn't have any problem with the security, so we felt at ease. Trashcan always don't get to put any trashbag, not sure if it just in our room or what. So we asked, thinking maybe they just forgot but on just one day they put one and the rest no bags. We assumed there's always complementary breakfast but we probably just woke up late, there's one morning I went down early and didn't see any complementary breakfast so we just walked around to get breakfast nearby. On our last day (Saturday) that's when we saw complementary breakfast, so not sure if it's not everyday and just certain day's, don't know. Pool is nice heated too. So all in all with the price pretty ok.
6.13.23 i must update my 5 star review because, once again. Marriott overcarharged me. I'm so done with your rewards program. I'm punished not rewarded.
Rooms were fine, location was a short walk to Santa Monica pier. The service has been awful, since returning to Australia I have not been able to get them to resend me the invoice for my stay, so I can’t complete my expenses. Such a simple request and they can’t manage it.
The hotel is fine, a little run down, but not awful. It is in Santa Monica, so you'd think the location was great, but it isn't where you'd likely want to be if visiting LA or especially Santa Monica. Oddly enough the shower was excellent when I checked in, then barely had water (and it was cold) when I showered the next morning.
The biggest issue I saw was the night manager (Kenn). I watched him berate a family for allegedly not returning darts (they have a gaming room with darts and a pool table). The family mentioned they set them on the counter and he insisted they didn't and made them hold the elevator until he could verify. The darts were right where they said they were and he didn't even apologize. It was very awkward and uncomfortable for everyone on the elevator. Less than an hour later a guest asked for salt and pepper for their food order. Kenn insisted the kitchen was closed and there was no condiments available. The guest asked about the bar area (the bar was closed, but it is part of the lobby area). Kenn was irate about the whole thing as the guest just walked into the bar area and took salt and pepper from one of the tables.
This property is supposed to be a luxury type property, but the night manager treats the guests like they are at a motel. Very disappointing!
Hotel is ok but not really up to date. They rent out bikes for free which is very nice but thats their only contribution to sustainability. No sign that towels can be reused, only one time paper and plastic cups instead of a coffee mug in the room. Sparkling wine comes in a plastic cup which is environmental unfriendly und without style. The shower is not up to date and has minimal water pressure. Staff is nice. Location is so so with a lot of empty buildings, trash and homeless people around. Overall I would try to find something different next time
The room truly is beautiful but these rooms already aren't cheap, on top of that they charge a TWO HUNDRED dollar deposit. That's absolutely ridiculous for the price of the rooms. No parking except vallet which is like $50. I will NEVER stay here again. We were scared to leave our room a little dirty because of the deposit and the possibility of not getting it back. The night prior we stayed in a cheaper hotel that was just as clean (little less fancy) that had parking and all that. The only upside to this place is maybe the location as it is fairly close to the beach but the price is just WAY too outrageous. Like I said never again. I'm very unhappy with this stay. If you stay here I hope you have cash to burn because it is NOT budget friendly.
The location is great in Santa Monica. Staff was friendly, and very helpful. Overall, the room was fine. The bathroom is quite small, and was very humid. We had to keep the AC on to keep it manageable. Room was clean, and housekeeping came daily. Keep in mind, the walls are thin, we could hear our neighbors entire argument one night.not great. Valet service was nice, but $56 a day; no self parking option existed. If it came down to it though, I'd stay here again.
This hotel sucks lol. Don’t suggest to spend any money here. Go to Hilton or something which is much cheaper. The front desk manager Kai is ignorant and doesn’t listen to any suggestions. They have clearly a wrong charge on my room and I was not trying to get refund or anything just suggesting when sever charge for the food if people sign room number different from the bill room they can give some suggestions. As a Bon Voy member holder i will definitely choose Hilton chains moving forward
Ok, it was farther from the Pier and Fairmont where my event was taking place. The room is your typical Marriott Starwood type room. Clean, good pillows, etc. Expensive for what you get but this is Santa Monica. The area is nice but you will hear construction very early In the morning as they are building a high school across the street. I rented a car but at 52.00 a day parking, I left it in the hotel and Uber or walked. In hindsight, since I was there for only 3 days and 2 events, I should have not rented the car as parking is expensive and gas is over $5 a gallon.
The biggest rip- off. $33 for destination charge and $55 for valet park (no options) the hotel is facing a power plant. And they don’t tell you at the same place. Phone staff and front desk staff are unfriendly.
Check in was smooth. Room was very wornout, smell of mold and mildew. We had issues with key cards. Had to go back few times and fix. We had 2 rooms and one car. Both rooms were charged valet parking which is $57.20. Front desk employees were very friendly but I would not go back to this hotel unless they do a full renovation.
A beautiful hotel but disappointing that tea and coffee making facilities aren’t available in the rooms. When traveling through different time zones for business this a a must. For this reason alone I would look to book elsewhere next time.
This is an ok choice for a mid level hotel with a pool, within walking distance to the beach, but don't expect luxury. The rooms are a bit dated, don't have coffee machines or robes. Our shower was laugable- almost not worth having one, the water pressure and volume so low. The phone in the room was not connected so there's no calling reception for anything. Most of the plug outlets did not work. It can be pretty noisy in the hallways outside the room, and the air con is so loud there's no way you can leave it on overnight. For the price, would expect a little more care over the room- wash the curtains, provide robes and in room amenities.
Just south of the center of Santa Monica, near the beach. Our room had a view of the ocean. Valet parking was quick and friendly. Free breakfast was ordered from a menu and delivered by a waitress.
This hotel was such a great find. It is beautiful inside and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were fantastic. Everyone we encountered was very welcoming and helpful. Darius and Ana at the front desk were incredible and absolutely made me want to come back. The full service bar and restaurant were wonderful.
