Leashless Brewing, Ventura CA

This review begins in a small brew pub in Montreal in 2021. It was here that I had my first smoothie seltzer and I was hooked. Fast forward to today, when my fiance and I wandered in off the street in search of a good beer, when the bartender explained all the brews on tap. When they got to the fruited seltzers, I knew I had to try it. I was not disappointed. The texture and flavor is just like a freshly blended smoothie. I got the Rainbow Sherbet, and my partner got the 'Mosa. Cannot recommend more.

Love their beer, but holy shnitz is it expensive. What a ripoff for to-go beers! We bought a four pack of IPA and two V-towns to go and it was $43. Obviously user error for not just turning down the sale but we were in a hurry.you can get the same at a liquor store for $16 a four pack. I don’t understand how breweries around here think they can charge so much for beers at their own establishment- it’s like you’re paying a premium just to be part of their scene. I’ll keep buying, but from my local liquor store and not from their brewery, which is disappointing because we do really enjoy the tasty hopsicles.

This is my Favorite brewery! Organic drinks, live music and always great service! The Leashless team is amazing!

I couldn’t ask for more! This place is awesome! We sit with our dog Bruno to watch NBA Finals Dever vs. Miami while eating a good sushi from Kibo sushi is only 5mins from the Leashless Brewing. Ventura is now one of our favorite place in the US. Nice crews and customers are very friendly specially to the dogs.

After reading about the Mosa fruited seltzer, I decided to stop in for a Mother's Day treat. WOW. This is my new favorite and I love it more than a traditional mimosa! Perfect weekend treat.

Incredible atmosphere and great beers - I especially liked their smoothie beers. The staff is also wonderful - really helpful, friendly, and have great suggestions about beer and food. We went on a night with live music and it was a really fun time! Would go back anytime I’m in Ventura!

My wife is gluten intolerant but can drink this great tasting beer. I honestly, can't taste the difference with their gluten reduced offerings. Nevertheless they do offer regular gluten beers that also taste fantastic. Love the fact that they are all organic.

Yes, that's a unique and wonderful combination, but wait—there's more. Belgians, IPAs with tropical fruit, citrus, or coconut, stouts lavished with coconut, pilsners, and the BEST fruity seltzer ever created, I’m totally sure (called ‘Mosa). And more—weekday direct service to your table from the comfort-food restaurant next door. And still more, wicked-good live music Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Wait just a sec—more still—an historical building that the owners lovingly renovated and retrofitted to make it acoustically friendly and beautiful. And lastly, surfing videos quietly playing on a large screen inside. You can sit inside or outside. Or dance inside or out. (I won't tell you how many times I've danced at Leashless—not even if you ask me nicely.)

Okay, you are right—Leashless is WAY better than Cheers.

One more thing and I'll quit while ahead. It takes a LOT of extra work to have an organic brewery. Every ingredient costs more and is harder to source. And live music every weekend? TONS of extra effort and expense. You have to truly love and be devoted to a green lifestyle AND to the joy of live music to go through what John and Leila Gonzales go through. Super-educated, hard-working, and passionate owners who truly love what they do. Leashless really is more than you'd ever dreamed ask for all in one package.

Delicious organic craft beers, awesome staff! Dog friendly & live music on the weekends. They offer some gluten reduced beverages and yummy seltzers. Very community involved with annual events to support local non - profits. Best brewery around!

When you visit this place, I guarantee you two things, great organic beers, and good vibes! Throw in live music from popular smaller acts Th-Sun and you'll soon make this spot a regular hang!

Very helpful bartender. They had a good selection of beer and two seltzers for the non beer drinkers. They don’t serve food but they had a QR code for the restaurant next door and if you order they bring your food to you.
