Been here 2, almost 3 years. The first year or so was okay, but recently I’ve been itching to get out of here. Granted, we are in an older unit. But paying thousands of dollars a month for literally unusable fixtures and appliances is ridiculous to me. Rent has gone up $400/month but I still have an apartment with a broken, mildew filled dishwasher, carpet tacks that stick out and poke your bare feet, mold in the single pane windows, and I have to use a mini counter top oven. We’ve put in about 4 maintenance requests for the dishwasher and do everything we can to help the smell and done everything the appliance people at Home Depot tell us to do to fix the smell and prevent it, but it won’t help and the water won’t drain out of the bottom. We can’t use it anymore because the smell on the dishes makes us gag. So we have to waste water by hand washing or use paper plates. We put in a request months ago to fix the carpet tacks. Still nothing. Our toilet keeps breaking and leaking. We have put in 4 or 5 noise complaints over time and sent in video of a dog that barks around us for hours a day, starts every morning around 6: 30 am and lasts for hours, plus even at times like midnight- 2am and the management office takes 30 days to reply to my emails just to tell me they can’t do anything about it. I am 1 sleepless night away from calling animal control on the dog because complaining to the office for 2.5 years doesn’t do anything. The parking sucks. In the lease we signed it says you can only park your car in open spots for 5 days at a time, but there’s cars parked and left there abandoned for 6+ months at a time taking up spaces other need. They say you need parking permits but cars without them are taking up spots all the time. Office says we need to take pictures, call the parking people, etc.but honestly for a “luxury” rental, shouldn’t there be patrol for this kind of thing? Why do I have to do their work for them? Makes me feel like I got bamboozled for spending $50 on parking permits if they don’t matter. We are stuck here because of the military and unable to afford to move within San Diego until our time here is up. Market rate is well above our allotted BAH plus the cost of deposits and first/last month rent the upfront cost is too much. But there are other places around for what we pay that have working appliances, enough parking, and take care of noise complaints. I really wish we went somewhere else where I could get at least one night’s sleep without waking up from sneezing from the mold I have to constantly clean or wake up from a large barking dog. I will say, Raja at the office is great. He does all he can for us. Though he’s only 1 person and can’t make every request happen for every single resident, though he really does his best and I would be frustrated having to work for the new management company.

If you have two cars and decided to switch their parking spots, they charge you a $200 fine
Avoid them

We filled out an application, but had to cancel. We canceled within the 72-hour window to get the $500 holding deposit back which was stated on the application. That was on March 10,2023. It is September 21,2023 and we still haven't gotten our money back. I've sent close to 30 emails on 2 different emails, mine and my husband's, and they either don't reply, or the handful of times I did get a reply, but still didn't receive my check in the mail. I'll delete this review if I get my check. We are tired of waiting.

The next day: 3 hours left of office hours and I still haven't received an email. And it's 6pm, they closed and still no email.

I had several issues now with the place.
First, I was ticketed $200 + my car was booted for parking my registered car in an unnumbered spot even though I was told that I have the right to do so. I later found out that I should have gotten a sticker which no one told me about nor provided to me. Instructions weren't clear and the management should have given me the sticker at the time of signing the lease.
Now, I see there are many issues with the gym. AC is not working, multiple devices have stopped working!

Legacy was my first apartment with my husband. Overall, we had a good experience. Raja was the one who helped us throughout our entire stay there - He gave us a tour of our place and was the one to wish us well on our way out to our new place! The leasing office team is very kind and helpful and helped us through any questions or concerns that we had. Thank you for everything!

I gave legacy a holding deposit 06/01/2023’ I didn’t qualify…been calling since 06/15/2023 today is 08/15/2023 they have not returned my holding deposit… the community manager nick “wise guy” novelizing is very rule… chestnut type of guy, telling me to get a layer I will, California law states the deposit is 3x if not returned in bad faith.

I have been living in this community for 2 years, and I have to say I couldn’t have been more disappointed than in the past 1 year. I have had multiple maintenance issues which have been handled in the poorest way possible. At first it started with the refrigerator breaking down, which was replaced with a smaller and older version, which was absolutely filthy when brought into my house and only cleaned after requesting personally. Upon asking for maintaining standards, I was given a very sarcastic “you don’t live in a renovated unit, so we have to give you what’s left over. As long as it works, we can’t pay attention to the appearance”. For a community that prides itself as “luxury”, I hardly think that’s fair. Another issue came in just a week ago, where there was a plumbing issue that took them a week to fix. I had to call multiple times (most of which went to voice mail directly), to arrange timings which were very poorly coordinated. I had family coming in for the long weekend which I had informed them off plus cleaners coming in to take care of the unsanitary situation. However, the terrible coordination led to cancellation of family trips and an overall unsanitary situation for a week, with several drawbacks at work. Once again, while some of the office staff tried to help as much as they could with the resources at hand, others had the same, “appearances don’t matter” approach which really showcases the importance that the community pays to understanding what makes a person’s “home”. Despite all the issues, as well as the fact that my rent was raised almost 10 percent last year, I have been handed another 10 percent increase this year with no added amenities. While some of the staff is really polite and helpful, there are others that are plain rude and sarcastic. Living here is a continuous rent increase, and wouldn’t recommend it.

I was shopping around for an apartment when I came across Legacy Apartments and was thoroughly surprised! I went in for a quote and to tour one of the units and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. They gave me all the tools I needed to decide my new residence while answering all my questions without hesitation. Me and my partner are still discussing final choices but from the location, prices, and overall service we received- i just had to leave a review. Thank you guys!

Continue to raise rent despite the pool and spa that ARE NOT in front of the leasing office are in an abysmal state. Does not provide the postal system with any way to get inside the complex so receiving your mail is always a 50/50 every single day. Below are responses from the owner but nothing is mentioned on how half of the Legacy Apartment complex fails to receive mail quite often due to both UPS/USPS/FedEx being unable to make it inside the gate that is ON HILLERY DRIVE. NOT THE GATE IN FRONT OF THE LEASING OFFICE. I even called and whoever I spoke to was unaware of there being a 2nd gate that is located on Hillery Drive. Hey Nich you never answered the question about rent being raised back then and it was just raised another $600+. Can you provide an answer as to why or are you just going to ignore the question again? Also the package delivery to the other half of the complex is still a problem. People order things that are too heavy to carry manually across the entire complex so your whole "you can just have it delivered at leasing office and come pick it up and carry it back to your unit" excuse falls real short. I really hope you answer the question about rent being raised again and not just try to focus on a different question.

I have been a resident of Legacy Apartments in Mira Mesa for 6 years and I'm glad that I made the decision to make Legacy Luxury Rentals my home! Management haS changed over the years but what has sustained the high quality of living and service is the staff! Two names come to mind, John Burrell and Raja Deva! No matter what is going on, no matter what challenges and changes are taking place, those two have ALWAYS shown me and everyone else I've seen coming and going, EXCELLENT care and service! It never seems to be an inconvenience or a chore, and they never seem to just go through the motions and I REALLY appreciate what they do. They are the first point of contact for the residents, vendors and the public, and they represent GREYSTONE in a way that is second to none! Raja Deva and John Burrell need to know that I know, the residents know, that we appreciate them and we need more like them! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

I enjoyed living here but the manager of the office Raja Deva was super accommodating and very friendly. He actually responded to my emails and made an effort to go out of his way to check on us as tenants and go out of his way for utility repairs etc etc!

Been with legacy for two years and have nothing but good things to say about them. The staff has always been so nice and helpful whenever I walk in the office they all know me by my name. Any maintenance requests that I have had have always been taken care of in a timely matter and have had no issues within the community. Overall great place to live.

Since day one, the team at Legacy has gone above and beyond to be helpful in the moving process! We have lived there for a year now and have no complaints! Raja is amazing to work with and will exceed any expectations you have when working with a leasing agent!

I called looking to rent a one bedroom and a man answered the phone. He was so helpful and set up a time for me to come in. When I arrived a young lady named Tiernan greeted me. She took me on a tour and answered all of my questions thoroughly. The entire staff is so friendly and I definitely recommend looking into this property!
