Leor Matalon, MD, MS reviews
13Personally, my experience with Dr. Matalon has been a very positive one. He asked all the right questions and hit the nail on the head with the medication he prescribed. Ever since our first meeting my quality of life has progressively continued to improve. I must admit that I was doubtful about seeing a psychiatrist in the first place, but after my experience with Dr. Matalon I know it was the correct decision for me.:)
Dr. Matalon has provided my son with adequate and effective care. He is caring, knowledgable and professional. He is attentive and patient with my son. I highly recommend Dr. Matalon to any, especially if you are looking for a provider for a child.
I'm so grateful for Dr. Matalon! His clinical expertise has made such a positive influence on my life. He's the first psych I met that genuinely cared about providing effective and ethical treatment, instead of just throwing medication at me. If you're looking for someone who will just prescribe you whatever you want, then he's not the guy for you. BUT if you're genuinely seeking a considerate DR.and proper treatment, than he's your guy!
Excellent practitioner who listens, understands and has helped me resolve issues. Much appreciated! Highest recommendation.
I came to Dr Matalon in November of 2021. Life was not so pleasant at the time and i would consider it the lowest part of my life. What urged me to keep coming back to Dr Matalon is that he always seemed to take an interest in my wellbeing and not just want to write me a script and say goodbye. He is constant every session. I can confidently say that I am an overall happy person today because of the service Dr Matalon offers.
I almost don't want to write such a positive review because I don't want to have to fight for appointments!
Dr. Matalon is the first doctor to truly listen to what I have to say and be willing to change things to help fix what I had concerns about. After one discussion he immediately knew that I had been misdiagnosed and subsequently on the wrong medication. I had brought these concerns up to previous doctors and none of them had listened to me. One of the simplest fixes was changing THE TIME I took my meds! Something so simple that had been causing such distress, was caused by such an easy change that it amazing and so frustrating because no other doctor said anything! Getting on the right medication, being validated for the correct diagnosis and changing what time I take my others, has truly set me up for success, and Dr. Matalon was able to do that in ONE session!
I highly recommend him for anyone that may be looking! It's frustrating that you have to weed through so many disappointing experiences before finding the right profession to truly help you. If you're looking for professional help for the first time, or if you're desperately looking a the right fit, look no further!
Saved/changed my life! He worked diligently to find what was best for my conditions and did not apply a one size fits all approach. Very up to date and cutting edge with medications/treatments and really invests in your well being!
Dr. Matalon, has helped me to identify ways to support my best mental health. He is consistent, supportive and kind. I highly recommend Dr. Matalon.
Absolutely amazing psychiatrist! He spent ample time with me at my first appointment and prescribed the proper medications which have literally changed my life at the age of 50! Very smart and knowledgeable and attentive to my particular needs.
Dr. Matalon really knew how to assess me as a person, not a patient. We talked about my mental health journey from the beginning, and he was thorough on getting to know my experience with mental, instead of what I was "here for. "
I can't stress enough how refreshing it is to have a psychiatrist that pushes (not softly) you to be your healthiest self. Would definitely recommend him to anyone I know and love!
He’s very condescending. Laughed when I expressed what I thought I had. I think it’s ok to explain why I’m wrong without it being humiliating right? Aren’t I supposed to feel comfortable, and in a safe space? I had brought a list of my symptoms since I get overwhelmed and my mind goes blank when I’m on the spot because I minimize my own issues. He had no interest in hearing me out, he dismissed my list and said “no no no I have my own questions to ask”, in such a scornful way. I then found a different psychiatrist who was very supportive, made me feel safe, and was even excited when I told her I had a list. She was all for it and it felt like a team effort.
After years of my wife trying to convince me to care for my mental and emotional health the way I do my physical health, I finally gave in. I can’t believe the good fortune I’ve had to find such a talented, skillful and competent provider such as Dr. Matalon. Unlike most physicians in this field, he doesn’t just stick you on one of the big names and assume it will work. He takes the time properly assess you, and then with a deep knowledge of the tools (medications) that are available, works up the treatment plan that actually fits for your unique combination of physiological, psychological and genetic issues. I am happier, calmer, more centered and more productive than I have been in many years and as a result, deeply grateful. I should’ve listened to my wife and done this sooner.
