Warning don’t trust the Lexington They tell you only need first month rent then charge a $3500 community fee?
My 93 year father never stayed one day or night and they still haven’t refunded my father’s $3500.00

Ventura location is operating without an on-site director.
One night the front entrance was wide open at 10 pm? No front desk reception?
We will begin the unfortunate process of trying to recover my father’s money

warning this business isn’t trustworthy

The team at The Lexington is doing a fantastic job. Their activities program is best in class and they really work hard to create a fun and loving environment for their residents.

Please do not pay attention to this falsely inflated review. Three of the most recent positive reviews are actually from current and past management employees (Eric, Ashley, Dwight) of the local Lexington facility or the corporation that runs it! Our experience over the last year has been extremely disappointing, including missed showers, room maintenance that was not done, and food so poor in quality, we actually have to provide outside meals to my stepfather. The fault does NOT lay on the shoulders of the caregivers themselves. It is rotten management which favors management employees that try to promote their own unqualified family members. DON’T put your loved one in their care. We are actively seeking another facility for my step-dad.

What an awesome location. The team here is so welcoming and caring. The diner is such a fun feature, the activities are remarkable. It’s great to see people needing care living their best lives.

My stepmom moved into Lexington a week ago. They gave her no medication for over 24 hours. Had the family not come to visit and realize something was wrong, who knows how long she would have gone without meds. Saw her yesterday and she still had not been bathed. After hours of trying to find out why, it was discovered she wasn’t on their bathing schedule in their computer. When she calls for help, she waits and waits and waits. They are severely understaffed and the people who work there are extremely rude and clearly do not care about the residents. One of the caregivers doesn’t speak English so could not understand when my stepmom told her that she was hurting her when the woman was pulling on her arm. Please don’t put your family members here. We’ve already arranged to move her.

Updated 23Jan2023: When Mom and Dad needed help, we needed a place near us that could join us as a team. We researched facilities in the greater Ventura area and found that the Lexington had the best combination of roominess, quality of staff and outstanding management. Though there are other good facilities near us, we chose the Lexington primarily due to the people providing care. When Dad's health took a turn for the worse nearly four years ago, the Lexington staff stepped in and provided every bit of care we needed. They connected us with the right people at the right time. Even after Dad passed, their support and caring spirit increased for us and most importantly for Mom. We started with the largest of apartments, a two-bedroom configuration in which we tried to emulate their ranch house. After Dad passed, and mom took a fall, we transitioned to a one-bedroom apartment. The Lexington helped make it a smooth transition. Most recently, mom became in need of memory care, and the Lexington staff once again made the transition seamless into their well-staffed memory care section. Mom is on hospice now, and the care from the Lexington and Assisted Hospice has been outstanding. Good folks. The facility, if a bit dated, is well maintained. They have everything Mom needs (and more). She had used the library and played the piano frequently. The dining facility is decent, and they have taken care to ensure Mom gets her nutrition. The medical support staff is excellent, ensuring Mom gets her meds and in calling in help when issues beyond their capabilities arise. My wife and I visit often (2-4 times per week). Specifically, Eric, the Executive Director is outstanding. Any concern we have had, he immediately took care of it. His support, caring spirit and obvious leadership are appreciated. There are too many excellent caregivers and support staff to name individually. Our experience with everyone we have interacted with has been top notch. Special recognition goes to the outstanding front-desk staff, and to the caregivers in memory care, such wonderful people. We highly recommend the Lexington Assisted Living facility and hope you will too.
