Liberty Station NTC Park reviews
18It was my home away from home 1988-1992. Love the changes to the area. Wonder what happened to the old chapel on NTC side.
Nice large park with many walking paths. However, one can easily have difficulty finding businesses amongst the many buildings.
Love this park for so many reasons! First of all, it is far from the street so the little ones can't run to it too fast. It has 2 separate areas for tots and older kids that are close enough to monitor both sides. Plus it's by the water walkway and many major stores! You can wear your kiddos out then grocery shop more peacefully
Need a wonderful place to relax? Like to walk or run? Eat and or shop? Come to Liberty Station and do it all. While you are there learn the history of those building that once housed and trained some of our world's finest Sailors. Then create your own memories of Liberty Station.
Very nice park. Lots of open grass space. The trees, picnic tables, grills, and benches are along the waterfront path. Lots of nice shaded benches to sit on while watching the seabirds and boats in the canal.
There was a steady stream of locals passing by the bench where we sat. Walking, running, or walking their dogs along the path. Bright safe clean park.
The only big negative is that the park is under the flight path of the airport. Once every few minutes you have to endure the thundering of a passenger jet taking off. We figured that was probably a big reason why the park was not busier.
On the positive side. The whole area of Liberty Station is a former navy base that has been redeveloped into really nice shopping and dining district using many of the original buildings on the base.
We are looking forward to exploring more of Liberty Station on our next visit to SD.
Always a place to enjoy a nice walk around during the day or night. Invision the planes taking off and flying over head as you hear the roar of the engines drown out the sound of cats or voices. The ocean is steaming though with boats and paddle boards floating by.
Wanted to put up 5 Stars,
but b/c @CityOfSanDiego & CaCoastal Commission has not held Property Lease holders & Developers accountable, we have not seen Waterfront activities center, Use of Historic buildings for real Non-profits, and not use old Military Capitains Quarters as Museum or Artist residence place. In fact, they are still boarded up. Rich&Wealth get their GolfCourse on public land, and fancy dining hall & eateries, but low income, working class workers, THAT MADE This Community (Pt. Loma) don't get what the need. Homeless center, low-income worker Day Care Ctr (SDPD use&destroyed that facility/bldg BY WATER!? !) Hotels & Motels got to use public land, that WE paid for over many decades: Billions, have been co-oped into private business/retail uses!? Including one of SD Counties Largest Churches.which destroyed a Nuclear FallOut Community Safety Shelter by cutting holes for? Windows?
Love this place, came here for the yearly Alzeimers walk with my cousins. Their mom has it but so did my grandma may she rest in peace. She died at 91. And the restaurants, co s and the rock church are off the charts. Love the Rocj Church! Pastor Miles is a fabulous Pastor. I enjoy listening to him and other pastors. If I cant be there in person I listen online and I attend the outside service in 3rd ave. Bless you!
Always a great spot for the family and dogs! Our go to spot for family park fun! Huge open grass area to have dogs run around. See you next time Liberty Station!
What an amazing place (the park too). We hang out here before our flight with awesome food nearby AND a bathroom to change out of boating wear into airplane clothes
I take my family there all the time. I just took them there for our firet bike ride, and they had the time of their life. Such a beautiful area right next to the bay.
Really nice and easy to walk around! Dog park friendly and I saw a lot of people being their kayak:) Parking is easy but it seems that during weekends it gets crowded!
Very different than how it was in the 70's when I served in the Marine Corps but even so, the totality of the place is great and inviting
This place is great, but was disappointed with stone brewery. They have no wait staff and require you to order EVERYTHING from your phone. To be clear, not like calling it in and placing an order, but from a App.
Not only was it ridiculous, but very confusing. Made the experience awful.
Beautiful Bohemian themed baby shower at this magnificent park. There was even 5 star hotels such as Courtyards by Marriott, Hampton Inn and Hilton just to name a few that fully enhanced the elegance of the park scenery by provided kayaking. I even got in a chance to teach my 2 year grandson how to skip rocks. Besides the the park is HUGE. It was a perfect Saturday and every type of party you could think of was enjoyed by all. The park also has paved bike lanes along the shore enjoyed by roller bladers as well. Restrooms were clean too.
People please remember to keep your dog on a leash. Not everyone welcomes a strangers dog sniffing around their food. Keep your dogs germs to yourself.
Nice to know you can turn an old Navy Training Center into a place all people can enjoy. From park grass areas, to memorials, to restaurants and a variety of stores, offices theaters, etc. It's a great place near the bay in the heart of San Diego.
We attended a daytime performance of music and dance. The venue was perfect for participation and enjoyment of the show.
Great place to spend a day! Perfect for singles, couples, families and groups. Plenty of activities, amazing art and shops, huge variety of food, and lots of relaxing common areas to enjoy just steps away from a lovely park with walking path along the water. Can't wait to return!
