This was my first experience at Dr. Van Kooten's office and it was quick, easy, painless, and the staff is so kind and welcoming! Dr. Van Kooten is so nice, easy to talk to, and takes time to listen to you. I am so glad I found Dr. Van Kooten and her amazing team and I look forward to my future visits! Very friendly staff, thorough & efficient examination, and adorably quaint office. I never love going to the dentist, but my experience with Lighthouse Dentistry was as good as it gets! Only two watch-outs that I have: The initial visit is very thorough and took about 2 hours, which I wasn't quite expecting. Not at all a ding against the practice, just something to be aware of when scheduling. Also; I had the varnish applied, which sounds like a great idea because it negates the need for using any additional fluoride products for the next year. I did not love that experience. The taste is not great, and you can't do anything about that because you have to wait an hour before you can eat or drink anything. And you can see the varnish on your teeth. So, if you're out running errands after your appt (as I was), you have to be careful not to show your teeth. It's not a good look. Otherwise, I strongly recommend everything about the practice.

I have loved each time I have been here. Everyone is so kind.and helpful.and Drs.work is so great. I have fallen, and damaged my front teeth.and dr.fixed so perfect.and I just do not have the appropriate words to express my thoughts about Dr.and her staff.love Faye so much.so helpful! I was new to the Penninsula and past due on a cleaning. Ernst found a cancellation and scheduled me an appointment. Dr. Van Kooten was thorough, sincere, and experienced. I plan to go back.

Another good experience with this practice! Honestly, I have never had anything other than a good experience with them. I have had complicated and diverse problems over the years, and always felt cared for and assured that I had had the best care possible.

Let's just say that it had been a while since I visited a dentist. After working up the courage and overcoming previous trauma, I consulted with my choosiest friend. He highly recommended Dr. Van Kooten. After my first visit I could understand why. I felt at ease from the moment I walked in the door. Ernst at the front desk is terrific. The dental assistants are equally as great. Dr. Van Kooten is amazing at what she does. She is soft spoken and kind. All in all I felt at ease and most importantly didn't feel like I was being pressured to pay for services that I didn't need.

What a delightful experience… and yes! This is a dentist office! The staff is friendly and welcoming. I didn’t have to wait. The dentist is gentle and thorough. I usually have severe anxiety at a dentist office, but not here. After 13 years, we’ve found a dentist we want to keep. Bonus, the office is clean and smells wonderful… no mediciney smells. Just flowers and lightness.

Dr VK has been my dentist for many years, for which I am very fortunate and very grateful.
She has always provided excellent basic dental care. Also, she provided me with some needed tooth restoration that required her cosmetic dentistry skills which were absolutely perfection!
Recently, I had a dental “dilemma” and scheduled a consult with her. She listened to all my concerns, and came up with a solution that solved the problem. Thank you Dr VK!
I am grateful to Dr VK for her kind and gentle demeanor and for being such a good listener. When undergoing a procedure, she always explains what she is going to do, and asks how I’m doing, which is so helpful and reassuring.

I am a new patient, so no corrective work has been done on my teeth yet. My first appointment was for xrays (only those that were necessary), exam and cleaning, then she explained every problem. I was really impressed with everything and everyone. Dr Van Kooten is the first dentist ever to show me pics of all my teeth and explain what is going on. She, her assistant Edward, and Ernst the office manager were all very friendly and helpful. She explained each problem area and left the decision up to me. I had 3 cracked teeth that need crowns, so I’m having 2 crowns done in May. I will update as needed, but I can say that she was very gentle but thorough with the cleaning, she uses top notch technology, and it was a relaxing pleasant experience.

Dr, Van Kooten is an exceptionally skilled dentist. Her office and staff are "top notch".
