Bakery Lilac Pâtisserie reviews
14Great dedicated gluten free spot! What a gem for the gluten free community and those who are not gluten free and maybe have heard only bad things about it! So good!
This place is phenomenal! Amazing food and great service. I'd probably be here everyday if I lived in the area.
YES, YES, YES! I have found the holy grail of gluten-free pastries and it’s right here in Santa Barbara! Even if you aren’t #gf be prepared to be blown away!
Coffee cake so light, fluffy and buttery, you’d swear it wasn’t gluten free! Their chocolate orange scones are also perfectly crisp around the edges with a tender crumb! Both are A MUST try for any pastry lover!
Every time I eat at an entirely GF bakery, it’s hard to believe every item is safe. This place is DELICIOUS.
Very good! Only thing was the sandwich bottom was completely soggy from the veggie juice leaking! So just be cautious of what you order. Or ask for veggies on the side? But the cutest atmosphere and great service!
Easily one of the best breakfast/brunch stops downtown. Usually busy but plenty of seating so there isn't usually a wait. Grab some of the rosemary break for the road before you leave!
I'm a hundred percent for local coffee shops, avoiding the corporate. It's a little pricey, but just a fantastic place for coffee and a baked good.
This place is quite possiblity the best dedicated gluten free restaurant/bakery I've ever been too. My wife has celiac, so I'm always looking for places she can eat. We had breakfast here and we were worried maybe it wasn't 100% gluten free because of how delicious, fluffy, and moist everything was. I couldn't tell my toast apart from the normal bread that I usually eat, and honestly I liked it even better than my normal breads. Can confirm it is 100% gluten free though! If you have any struggles with gluten, this is the place to go
Looking for healthy food, great ambiance and friendly staff Lilac Pâtisserie is your place.
This place is great! I can't believe everything in the menu is gluten free, EVERYTHING!
Too bad there isn't a place like that in Santa Maria.
But over all we came here because my girlfriend is gluten sensitive and im not but just the fact that all the breads which they make over 4 kinds of loafs of bread and is gluten free is remarkable!
We will for sure come back to get more breads and pastries!
One of the best gluten free bakeries I have been to! We were traveling through California and we had to stop while in Santa Barbara. The cheesecake was out of this world, which says a lot as I enjoy making cheesecake at home. I also really enjoyed the coconut macaroons! They have a full breakfast and lunch menu with mimosas, if we ever make it back to CA I will make it a priority to come there and eat in restaurant. I took a grilled cheese sandwich to go, it was really good
Wedding cake icing isn’t great. I ordered a six inch wedding cake (carrot) with flowers for our small wedding.
In my opinion, the vanilla buttercream that is used for celebration cakes has the consistency of crisco and did not allow for those cute cake icing on the nose wedding moments.
The cake was gorgeous but our guests did not enjoy the icing, a harsh ending to an otherwise great day. Even the interior layered icing was similar to crisco.
I wrongly assumed that a cream cheese icing would be used due to the cake flavor. I enjoy GF and vegan baking and suspected that the cake I was given was vegan.
I took a slice to the bakery and explained the situation. I wanted to know what happened and hoped it was simply a mistake. Not seeking money, as a home baker I was curious as to how this happened.
I was told the correct icing was used, I should have read the website details regarding the choice of icing, and that it was not vegan icing. The manager was quite friendly, despite a senior manager (maybe owner) that overshadowed the conversation yet didn’t introduce himself.
Luckily, the next day a catered lunch at Sanford winery surprised us with a GF/vegan cake from Solvang Bakery. Best cake I’ve had in a long time and the icing was perfect for tasting and those sweet wedding related moments.
One of the best gluten free cafe ever.
The cheesecake is to die for as are the buttermilk pancakes.
Highly recommend lunch and breakfast menu.
