Liticker's Liquor & Mexican Grill reviews
16Ambience? LOL-not really, but you go for the food and the convenience of the liquor store/mini mart with a grille. The food is amazing, people are nice, and there are picnic tables outside on the sidewalk. We stopped in for the amazing tacos and burritos. Since we had the dogs with us, it was cool to hang out at the picnic tables outside while we waited for our take out order, chatting with locals passing by. 5/5 will be back!
It wasn't what I was hoping for foodwise- think frozen food made in a deep fryer. Not my thing vegan or not.
Long time neighborhood convenience store and deli. Friendly owners, great selection of beer and great Mexican heavy deli.
WOW SO INSANE so good. Vegan hot cheeto burrito? Vegan birria? Vegan shrimps?
I know it sounds hard to believe but it’s a true story. Go try for yourself today. Have the burrito of a lifetime. Your tummy, heart, and soul will be forever grateful.
Actually mind blowing guys.
Go get a burrito.
What are you still doing here? Go get your burrito!
Deli is great and has an extensive vegan menu. The shop has all kinds of liquors and snacks at a reasonable price as well. A very convenient location in OB as well.
Update 2023-10-03: now that El Jardin is out of business, this is one of the only places in SD that has "real" burritos that happen to have vegan options. It's highly worth checking out the "fish" and the El Surfo burrito.
I placed an order, got a very rude call from the person preparing my food or owner not sure. I actually like their food but there are ways to address things/ ask questions. In the future, I recommend conducting business in a more professional manner. I tried calling the restaurant back 5x and no response. I personally am not ordering from here again. There are plenty of other places with good service.
This is my favorite taco place in the whole US. I travel extensively and I eat a lot of mexican food. A surfer at ocean beach recommended the place and I was hesitant to eat at a place inside a liquor store. But man am I glad I listened to that surfer. I will go out of my way to go there anytime that I am in southern california. The food here is great!
Vegan burrito that is not bland is hard to come by. Found this place after a few years, but has become my go-to place for a vegan burrito in San Diego. I do particularly like the vegan California burrito. The salsas have a nice kick as well.
This guy has been here a while. Back when ipa's and micro brews were $2.50 for 22ou bottles they had a huge selection they still do
I’ve been coming to this liquor store/mexican restaurant for a few years now. It is reliable when it comes to taste, which is surprising considering the restaurant seems quite hidden to the naked eye. They make many mexican dishes that are satisfying and have a lot of flavor. What I like the most about it is that they make good quality vegan plates too which gives me and my friends the best of both worlds. The outdoor patio isn’t the nicest but the food makes up for it. It’s more of a laid back type of place but the flavor isn’t lacking.
Hidden gem! Especially for vegan Mexican food I get the vegan fish burrito (which is beer bartered tempeh). It’s inside the liquor store, so there’s not really an “atmosphere, ” BUT they do have a couple tables & umbrellas outside now. It’s right on the street so it’s almost always breezy, but it’s a hidden gem for a reason. They have parking for customers, so you can easily order and take it with you to the beach etc. The customer service is fine for any lil shop/liquor store but sometimes you have to remind them of the order/modifications but honestly the food is SO GOOD so I don’t care.
I went there because of the good revews. I'm honestly so disappointed that I didn't finish the food. I got the carnitas plate. Carnitas should be pulled pork. What I got is some kind of meat that I can't say for sure if it is beef, but it looks like a cheap cur of beef. The corn was good. But that is about it. Also, the cooker is very rude. I wanted to go back to confirm if that plate is what they sell as carnitas, but I saved my time from being rudely treated. So yeah. Never going back there.
This place is awesome. The food is INCREDIBLE and at an amazing price. My wife and I got the quesabirria and oh geez so much flavor. They also have vegan options which is cool. Huge selection of drinks (kombucha, sparkling waters) in the convenience store part. The cashier at the register was super friendly. Talked to us like we were old friends. We will definitely be coming back here!
Rude owner - the restaurant staff were not giving sides promised on the menu. During discussion in the San Diego Vegans FB group, I pointed out that not offering to make it right when it was pointed out would be grounds for the chargeback. The owner or manager replied saying “plain quesadilla means plain” even though the menu clearly states all quesadillas come with certain sides. Such a passive aggressive and rude attitude for someone who can’t even be bothered to read their own menu.
I ordered a chicken burrito and it was really good. Got a drink from the convenience store while I waited and ate at the benches outside. It was really good. Much better than I expected. I've also had the Carne Asada burrito but the chicken was great. The place was clean and food was quick to come out. Not expecting this from a convenience store section restaurant.
Lickticker's is my favorite vegan spot, hands down! Food is always amazing, and the vegan menu goes on, and on and everything is always on point. I've eaten the mucho nacho vegan burrito for about 6 years, and it always fire. So are the vegan fish tacos, so good "it's like the first tine you heard the Beatles" Thank you Liticker's for being a wonderful part of the vegan community!
