L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, Brea CA

The employees were very nice but it was a complete waste of money buying food from this particular L&L location. We spent $36 on food and probably ate $10 worth because it was that bad. I got the lumpia’s which were the size of mini corn dogs and a they were not crunchy. In their photo located on their store front the lumpia’s look like long taquitos but are actually like an inch and a half in size. Then we ordered spam masubis, the spam was cut extremely thin and one piece of spam was a light grayish color and they put way too much rice. Lastly we got the chicken Katsu and it was more breading than chicken. The meat on the chicken Katsu was so thin and the sauce that comes with it tasted alittle off. We’ve had plenty of L&L Hawaiian BBQ so it’s sad that this particular location was such a disappointment. I wish the food was as great as the staff’s hospitality. But if I could give 0 stars on the food I would.

For a casual hawaiian bbq place, I absolutely LOVED it! The food was tasty and flavorful and the service was so quick.definitely coming back

4: 40 PM Saturday, May 13th, I walk in to pick up a mobile order (for me). Short woman at counter doesn't even look me in the eye and passively says, "Not ready. " Meanwhile, there's an order sitting behind the counter, and guess what, it's mine.
So I end up sitting down, wasting time while my order is ready, watching her do nothing.
After more time passed, she helped other customers that started walking in. More time passes, she grabs my order and says here.
I asked, "Why didn't you check? Why did you tell me not ready when it was sitting there the whole time? " She laughs and says, "Sorry. "
As I'm walking out the door, she says in a sarcastic tone, "Any sauce? "
This is what not caring about customer service looks like.
My food was cold.
From now on, I'm going to other restaurants.
You guys just lost a loyal customer.

Sadly our meal was awful. We love Hawaiian food and took a chance dining here as they have an Anaheim location we used to visit. Unfortunately we were served over cooked, dry meat (we had the BBQ mix), and everything was a salt bomb. The teriyaki sauce was congealed and tasted as if it had an entire bottle of soy sauce poured into it. The only thing that was ok was the mac salad, and even that was over salted. We definitely won't make the mistake of dining here in the future.

This location has a nice Hawaiian vibe with Hawaiian music, photos on the wall and delicious aromas. The size of the regular plates used to be smaller compared to other locations but it is comparable now. Scoop sizes for rice and mac salad are still small and not a "full" regular sized scoop. No senior discounts.
