Loved the flavors and textures - seriously my new fave place in SD!
It's pretty cool for being a casual restaurant, you order at the bar and get your own utensils/water. It gives a simultaneous classy yet home-like vibe.

Best upscale taco//cocktail restaurant in SD. I've been here a few times now, and have been blown away each time. This time I ordered the squash blossom relleno, the rainbow cauliflower, the Baja fish, the special which was a roasted carrot taco, and the rice. My favourite were the cauliflower and carrot (which surprised me!), I really hope they add the carrot to the permanent menu. Both were really subtly and beautifully attuned to the perfect variation of texture, form and flavour. The cocktails here are also amazing.

After hearing great things and seeing a nicely decorated business with tons of craft cocktails I decided to visit, I order a steak taco and a pork belly taco.
The protein on the tacos were great the rest of the taco was ok the tortillas were a little cold the different variations to these tacos were ok.it's a nice place to catch a bite have some craft cocktails, take some calls or work on your laptop but I was deff not blown away by the food

Got the steak tacos and the pastor, and was not disappointed! All the drinks we tried were great as well, and super creative! Will definitely be back!

Really good-looking and good-tasting tacos. Creative presentation and obviously meticulous preparation. We did get a little bit of attitude when we asked for some limes, being told by the server that the tacos already had lime on them. I guess it's like a French restaurant, where the chef comes out to berate you if you ask for salt or pepper. But you don't expect that in this kind of venue. I suspect most people like to eat things with the amount of lime or whatever other condiments they prefer on their dishes, that they are paying like five bucks a fancy street taco for. Anyway, I'd totally go back. Pozole was good, Brussels sprouts excellent.

Lola 55 is one of the best taco places in San Diego. True to its acclaim, it deservedly got Michelin Honors. They have 3 types of vegetarian tacos and 4 plus non vegetarian versions. The cauliflower tack and mushroom taco I ordered were amazing. Both had distinctly different flavors and ingredients and no overlaps whatsoever. At nearly 5 dollar a taco it’s a little expensive though the value was there in my opinion. Don’t be seeking ambience, cocktails, service or anything else, the place is great just coz of its tacos all by itself.

Pork belly taco was so good! Packed with flavor! And loved the steak taco with the crispy onions. The El Niño drink was insane! An elevated tequila pineapple, it was so so tasty!

Great spot for a light snack or meal. Friendly staff, nice bar area, counter service for ordering and then food is quickly delivered to the table or bar. Dining area is a nice, casual environment to hang out, with seating at the bar, tables, and a few spots with couches and low tables.

The tacos were excellent, quickly prepared and delivered to the table. Great range of options and the steak and carnitas tacos were delicious, perfect spice level. Cocktail options are well crafted and a solid complement to the food.

Prices across the board are very reasonable and their happy hour (times each day and all day Wednesday) reduces the house margarita by half and discounts several other drink options.

Ordered the rainbow cauliflower, squash-room, and carnitas tacos. The soyrizo and eggplant bacon actually taste like the meat versions, it's crazy. All three were really delicious, but I would recommend visiting for the vegetarian tacos since they're unique. Each taco was about $5. Marzipan ice cream was good, but tasted like vanilla. I was hoping the almond would come through more.

We tried Lola for happy hour on Tuesday. Their happy hour specials consist of a margarita for $8 and a certain beer for $6, no food specials. The margarita was light but really well balanced. I ordered the fish taco, mushroom squash blossom taco, and the chips with guacamole foam. All items were good but not great and the portions were very small. The fish taco was definitely different than what I expected, I felt they were trying to hard to be unique. While liked this place, I don’t feel the need to go back and it’s not a place I’d think to recommend to friends.

This is a great little place. Carnitas and fish tacos are delicious. The fish taco was my favorite. Order food and drinks at the bar when you walk in.

They messed up a churros order and asked us to pay extra for it. Left disappointed, won’t be returning.

5 stars for quality of the food, they serve scrumptious tacos. Ordering was a little odd, you have to place your order at the bar, when I was there there was only one bartender that took orders and was making drinks at the same time resulting in a long line. Lack of ambiance as well, all lights were off except for in the kitchen.

Wow. Best tacos in downtown! The atmosphere is very bright, relaxed, and approachably trendy. The vegetarian/vegan tacos were great. The rainbow cauliflower taco is a must try! The El pastor and carnitas tacos were also delicious! Fun cocktails and a great bar area. I look forward to coming back with friends soon!

Let me just say elevated tacos that's all I have to say give it a try you're going to love it

Server was attentive and kind. Cocktails were good (the one with watermelon and mint was incredible).

We had the squash blossom taco and the fish taco - both were excellent. The squash blossom really blew me away. They coaxed an incredible amount of flavor and depth out of a vegan dish - well done. Very impressed.

The fish was also very well done. Nice and fresh tasting with some great, bold flavor from the chilies.

The Caesar salad was delicious - honestly one of the best Caesars I've ever had. However, it was pretty tough to eat without making a giant mess due to the plating choice. I'd switch that up personally, but it's a nitpick.

My favorite this time was the fish taco. I also liked all of the other ones that we tried. The brussel sprouts were amazing.the service has always been great at this restaurant with the atmosphere.comfortable couches in the bar area.waiting area tables.plenty of tables outside seating this time because we had dogs.little windy but comfortable.
