Lola's Mexican Cuisine reviews
18 Went to Taco Tuesday. Killer $6 margaritas!
Al pastor taco was spot on.coca cola chicken taco was a little dry. Plantains were good but I prefer smashed ones. Can't wait to go back for the pistachio mole salmon!
Had the carnitas tacos. Added grilled pineapple, amazing!
Also pictured is the barria Guadalajara and short rib enchiladas.
Went on Monday to celebrate a graduation. Third time here. First two times was great. This past Monday seemed a mess and servers were all over the place. I think this is just a natural COVID-19 after experience. My enchiladas came out completely over cooked which was sad because it was their signature dish. If you want the upscale experience I think they’ve lost it. Sad that I say have your Mexican friend cook. It’s probably gonna be better quality!
Had this place for the first time tonight ordered on Postmates. Literally the best meal I’ve had on Postmates 10/10 the chicken tinga so good. And it was closing time and it was still on point
Lolas Mexican Restaurant has two locations in Long Beach. We recently went to the one located on Retro Row / 4th Street for Taco Tuesday. Of course we had the fresh guacamole, tacos, a pitcher of margarita & Jose was a great and attentive waiter. Good stuff!
Service was absolutely disgraceful.
To the white dude serving us, uh get a new job where you don't deal with the public.
Lola's has the best and most consistent quality. Love the Chile Verde bowl and the green sauce is everything that people say about it. Great team running the restaurant at all times, I've never had a single issue here.
We paid $61.43 total for two people for one mediocre plate and one margarita each. So mad about the price considering how disappointing the food was! I got the vegetarian butternut squash cream enchilada which was just a sliced potato beneath a soggy tortilla. I actually asked the waiter if they forgot the butternut squash and he pointed to the half a teaspoon of orange "cream" that was on one side of the enchilada. Lol, really? Oh but there was a whole zucchini cut up on the plate as the side of veggies so that's worth $14.
The only thing they have going for them is that their margaritas are decent and they are one of the only places you can sit down to drink/eat on this part of well-trafficked 4th St.
Always great atmosphere here everytime my husband and i get dinner. Brian and Cory is always helpful. Service is outstanding, and dinner is great, fresh ingredients with best quality of produce.
DISGUSTING! Everything from the food to the service was completely disgusting I’m upset we decided to actually sit down. The waitress wouldn’t even let us finish the order without walking away and the burrito was some weird shaped thing with nasty chicken and rice looked like a 5 year old prepared it. Worst Mexican food I have ever had HANDS DOWN!
Service was great, atmosphere was great, food was mediocre. It's Mexican food that's palatable for non-Mexican's and vegans pretty much. The flavor is good, don't get me wrong. But it's just not "authentic" Mexican food even though the guy they have cooking it is the only Mexican in the restaurant. Also, let that man have the aux cord, he was playing way better music in the kitchen than was being played in the restaurant.
Enjoyed outdoor dining in the back patio with family. Ordered a variety of vegetarian and vegan meal options: vegan burrito, potato taquitos, beans and rice. Our waiter, Derek G, checked on us frequently and worked hard to attend to our table's needs. He was well versed in the menu and also suggested different items we could try to make our experience a positive one. We're thankful for bottomless nacho chips and side salsas. With delicious food and great service, we will be back.
The food was okay. The green salsa though was delicious. The drinks were great. Service was excellent. Thank you Sofia.
I know a lot of people have something to say about Mexican food being “upscale”. “How good it be good if it doesn’t come from the truck around the corner? ” The idea that any cuisine is not authentic because of the cost is undoubtedly selfish in nature. You aren’t willing to spend a couple extra dollars for a seat in a nice restaurant, with pleasant staff, and undeniably authentic food? That’s on you. Lola’s can be described as a home away from home. Good food, good drinks, and friendly staff. Where the recipes were passed down and reflect passion. It’s the perfect spot to grab a margarita and some chips or take your loved one out for a cozy dinner.
Came to visit a friend in Long Beach and stopped by here. Had the Birria Queso tacos. They were so good I had to come back for brunch. Had the Mexican French toast and it was fantastic. Also had Grandpas coffee, even though I'm not really a big drinker it was great! The staff was awesome as well! When I come back to visit I will definitely have to come eat here at least two more times!
I love lolas! If you haven’t tried the brunch special blue corn pancakes with jalapeño bacon.your missing out! It’s one of my top favorites on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon!
As usual.very good food, excellent service and very friendly employees. Always a pleasure to come for either lunch or dinner. Today it was lunch with my boyfriend.see you soon.
Ordered delivery via restaurant website. Food arrived 15 minutes late per their eta, which kept changing +/- 10 minutes, so up and down from my room I went. Watched driver circle the Westin Hotel several times (not a tough spot to find). No way to contact driver offered via app. I called restaurant and they asked what service I used. I don’t know. It was via your website. He asked if it was Postmates. Yes, that’s the one. “Sorry, once it leaves us we have no control. Gotta contact Postmates. ” Good luck with that! Couldn’t find a contact number and nothing but automated nonsense from text message alerts that kept dragging me out of my room on false alarms. I’m guessing the food would have been good if it wasn’t cold. How about a little quality control on delivery services serviced by YOUR website? I won’t be patronizing your place again.
