Loma Linda University Health: Adult Emergency Rooms

If you want to be left writhing, and moaning in pain for over 5 hours before being allowed any pain relief this is the place for you.
Also, if you want to be prescribed medication for your pain (not even narcotic, just stronger pain meds) then have them fail to call it in, and refuse to correct the problem for days, then this is the place for you.
Apparently they “updated the computers” and that’s why the 10 different people I’ve spoken with over 4 days still can’t get my prescription sent to a pharmacy.

I came in with chest pains. When checking in the nurse up front asked me if I had a smart watch to indicate my heart rate? Is that something you normally ask when someone comes in with stabbing chest pains? I waited hours for them to actually place me in a room. This emergency room takes your pain as a joke. Unless you’re actually bleeding out on the floor they put so many people that got there after you in front of you to be seen. I can say it takes at least 8-10 hours to actually speak to a doctor or get your blood work done.

Horrible very careless. Long waiting time. We asked when we would see a provider. We were told by three different staff members they were going through a shift change we had been here since 5: 00am it is now 8: 00am. Restrooms are dirty and had no toilet paper. Unsatisfied definitely. We are still in severe pain.

Wish I could leave zero stars. This emergency department is a total joke. Was there on Thursday for several hours in pain. After blood work and a CT scan I was told I have a kidney stone. Doctor told me he would give me medication to help break it down, turns out all he prescribed me was naproxen and lidocaine patches. Flash forward to right now I’m at Redlands community awaiting surgery, the stone is causing a blockage. How do you miss that with a CT scan? The staff is incompetent. It’s really took a turn for the worse. Ghetto, dirty, rude personnel, all a bunch of kids just laughing as they watch people on misery.

Second time brought patient here. Still the same waited for along time. Understand that have lots of patients but to wait for like 10 hours is insane.

Excellent service here from doctors and nurses. Prepare to be here for many many hours but excellent care everytime I've needed care

Wait time of over 12 hours. No personal touch. No updates. Horrible experience. Will avoid this ED if at all possible in the future.

Every person that dealt with me were so kind and compassionate. This place gets very crowded. And the staff works with grace under pressure. I live in Victorville but chose to go their emergency room. I am glad I did. They were very thorough. The long waits are not the fault of the staff. So the patients should not complain and hold that against them

Wish I could leave fewer stars I waited 5 hours just to be told they removed me from their system and no one mentioned anything.after asking nurse if I could go to the back the said I had to wait for everyone to be called before I could be called back.they even took blood and a urine sample from me.

Update: After 10.5 hours, the doctor finally comes back and said I don’t know what’s wrong with you, go follow up with your doctor. Are you serious, why do all the X-rays, scans and blood work, to say I have no clue what’s wrong. Maybe instead of having a bunch of student doctors in the ER all day, have an experience Doctor Who can actually tell patients what’s wrong with them.

If I could give a negative 10 I would. Brought my mother in for stomach pain, checked in at 1pm and still here did 2 arounds of labs, did a CT scan, chest XRay, and an ultrasound, still waiting on results. It’s now 1012pm. When we asked what was taking so long, we found out they didn’t push send for the CT scan. I understand being busy, but stupid I can’t. My mom is in pain it took 2 hours to get her pain meds. When we talk to staff all the day of 1 min, be right there and nothing. Also who does a chest X-ray for stomach pain. This ER is the worst one I’ve ever been to.

I went to the new constructed labor and pregnancy on the fifth floor. I have been coming to Loma Linda Hospital for both of my prenatal care (high risk pregnancy). I have always been taken care of…. I have never left disappointed and always was taken very good care of.
Today at labor and pregnancy both nurses Julie and Olivia very polite and friendly. Reception staff as well very helpful and interactive. And my DR. MURRAY was very patient with me. He listened to all my concerns very carefully and made sure i was feeling better before discharge. I didn’t felt rushed out of the rooms like you would feel from other ER’S…. Very nice staff in the entire facility. Very accommodating and helpful. Thank you so much for taking care of people in need.

Wait times are ridiculous. My Wife is in tremendous pain and no one seems to care not one bit! Been waiting in the lobby for over 3 hours while my wife is in pain screaming. They still don’t want to provide any medication for the pain.

Other people waiting for long time and when they complained all they did was threaten her to call security. Security arrived just to kick the patient out not caring that they were in pain. This hospital is ridiculous

Absolutely unacceptable! LLUH has lost it's fine reputation it once had. It's worse than county hospital. People going through withdrawals, rooms absolutely disgusting, no expectation of privacy, and unacceptable wait times for them to only send you home with Tylenol if you're lucky. Their excuse is always the same, no available beds. I don't understand how it all went downhill. The new building was supposedly done to alleviate the influx of patients and it's as if they just made the problem worse. Even with two emergency rooms (one dedicated for children and one dedicated for adults) your wait times are even longer than they were before. What a total disappointment. Also, hospital is always dirty. We were brought in to a room where they didn't even clean. There was blood on the floor and on the suctioning cup. Avoid this place at all costs! You'll probably be better off going to Arrowhead or Redlands.

Worst Hospital I’ve been to keep changing you to different rooms and never see a Dr wait times are 7hrs+

After waiting 2 hours in the adult emergency room to see an eye specialist we were taken to the eye exam room and some female eye surgeon ask us what type insurance we had when we replied iehp she immediately told the emergency attendant's to take us back in the waiting room and wait till the ER doctor could see us this is an out rage and I'm consulting my attorney asap

Quick care. LONNNNG wait to discharge because they got busy and had to prioritize. Nice and friendly staff.

I came for diarrhea i had it for 2 days i meet doctor name Jofry he in my opinion he is not doctor he don’t do anything just do blood test ultrasound and send me home without any medication to stop it, after 1 day I came with same problems but this time diarrhea with blood, any new nurse can do his job, i don’t recommend him in this good hospital, by the way I don’t recommend all staff working at Night Shift specially the the nights of 4/12,4/13
