Long Beach Mega Passport office

The staff working here is lovely! I had three women help me out through the entire process and each of them were very professional and polite. The process for me (applying and taking my picture there) went by pretty quickly. I did go in the morning during the week which helped. To make the process go quicker you need to make an appointment online. There was a family, that didn’t have an appointment, filling out paperwork when I arrived and they were still waiting when I left. I would also recommend filling out the form online and printing it out yourself to save time. Overall great facility and great staff.

If you don't do walk ins on Saturday morning, you could at least place a dàmned sign in the door Friday night.

I went here on Friday morning, got there around 7, and ended up getting everything done within half an hour when they opened at 8: 30 am. The lady who took my picture and took my payment explained everything perfectly, but on my way out, I had asked another employee if I could come back with my girlfriend the following morning.

She diplomatically told me she wasn't sure and didn't want to give me a wrong answer either way, and her big buddy didn't happen to chime in either.
So, the next morning, when they started turning every single walk in away, we had our answer, and I firmly believe that liar knew the entire time. During pandemic times, I get it - appointment only, but I thought we were past all that.
These government employees just sit on their hands all Saturday, taking 15-minute appointment windows, instead of helping people who work during the week like normal humans.
Why is this the only option for passports? ! What a joke!

We got there at 1pm and there was no people waiting at all it was empty, except the employees of course and we were helped by a nice gentleman. Everything was done quickly we were done in 20 mins
We’re leaving this place happy and thankful

They don't accept walk ins on Saturdays.
Weekdays they only accept the first 10 people in line.
I cannot believe that getting a passport is that complicated.

Great experience and fast service!
I’ll start off by saying if you plan on doing a “walk in” don’t come on a Monday. They DO NOT accept walk ins on Mondays, only appointments. Myself and 5 others were turned away because of this after standing there for over an hour.

Suggestion to this facility: please put a sign saying this.

Anyways, I came back the next day (Tuesday) knowing I need to get there early. I arrived at around 0600ish and I was 2nd person in line. By 0830 (the time they open the doors) there were around 20+ people. Once those doors opened, process was smooth! We were in and out within 30minutes for my daughters passport.

I don’t usually write reviews but I felt this specific topic/location needed an updated one. So some advice if you want to get in and out quick:

1st (most important) : get there EARLY. I’m talking 0530-0600. Yes you will stand there until they open at 0830 but what else would you be doing? Sleeping? Lol.if you get there by 0830 you probably won’t leave until lunch time, if you’re lucky. Unless you’re okay with losing half your day waiting. Your choice.

2nd: if you do get there early, more than likely it’ll be cold and you’ll stand the entire time. Wear warm clothes and bring a pop up chair. Your feet will thank you.

3rd: also bring entertainment (phone, tablet, laptop, etc). Otherwise you’ll stare into space for 2+ hours thinking about your life decisions.

Tip: go during the week in the morning, it was dead when I went there was only two other people. This facility was great, just make sure you make your appointment and have all your paper work if you need a passport or services. The first desk woman was a little grumpy but I was nice to her and she lightened up a bit, everything else was smooth and the woman who took my picture was very sweet

I went Friday at 3: 44 pm long line but did not reach the finish line. The nice lady gave the three of us next in line an appointment ticket for tomorrow I chose the earliest at 9: 45am tomorrow Saturday. I went back exact time no line on the Appointment Side. I went inside and took ten minutes to submit my photos, old passport, driver’s license copy, and filled out form then I paid and got the official receipt and went home. Perfectly done thanks to the staff.
