L’Opera has it all- ambience, service, and most importantly incredible food! The butternut squash ravioli with spicy marinara sauce was the best I’ve ever had. Perfect balance of flavors. This was my first time here and I will certainly be back in the future. Amazing and authentic Italian.

EXQUISITE! I was invited to celebrate a friend's birthday at L'Opera. Rest assured we will be back! Our table of 5 shared two baskets of fresh bread - still warm from the oven, the Brussel sprouts started (yum) followed by a salad with fresh greens, strawberries, almonds and champagne vinaigrette. Delicious! Two at the table had the short ribs stuffed in ravioli. They raved about it (and finished every bite). Two of us had the "Fruitti Del Mar" - basically potpourri of mussels, clams, shrimp, and sea bass. I was so happy to have this dish sans calamari. (Many restaurants add calamari- but not L'Opera!). The final main course was a combo of ravioli and lasagna. Our friend struggled as to which one she should order - so the waiter arranged to have split the two dishes and she was able to have half portions of each on a single dish! You don't see that every day! (Who knows - they may make that a regular option!) Dessert was a gratis fruit and whip cream concoction for the birthday gal! We were too stuffed to eat another bite- always a good sign of a great meal. I must give a huge shout-out to our waiter, the host and hostess who helped seat us and take our photo as we left, and the chefs. I would give this place more than 5 stars but.that's all Google allows. So, if in Long Beach, CA - check this place out!

Food was good, but service was TERRIBLE. They messed up part of our order TWICE and it took so long to finally get it right that when we got it, we were basically finished with the rest of our meal. And, when the manager finally brought the correct order over, she just sarcastically laughed and asked “Better? ” (as if it was funny that we had to keep asking for what we had initially ordered.) She didn’t even bother to apologize.
I know if I had been a different kind of clientele (read: older, white, male) she would have handled the entire situation completely differently. I’m sure there would have been a profuse apology and they would have probably gone so far as to take the wrong order off our bill. For this level of dining, I’d expect them to treat all of their customers with at least the bare minimum amount of courtesy. Will not be coming back here again and do not recommend for anyone who is not their CLEARLY preferred clientele.

Premiere service from a smart, well versed staff from reception, to the bar, to our private event host. On top of that, the hors d'oeuvres, the courses, the dessert, and especially the main dish were outstanding. I had the rack of lamb, which was delicate, savory, and succulent.

Authentic Northern Italian done right! If you want Americanized pizza or spaghetti go somewhere else. Our waiter was also a sommelier & had excellent suggestions for wine & food. Atmosphere and service were perfect! We split a few dishes to try multiple items.our favorite main was the rigatoni funghi - and the foccacia with pesto olive oil on table for starters tipped us off that we were going to have an incredible meal!

If you're looking for a great Italian dining experience, you'll definitely want to check out L'Opera. The portions are large, so splitting an entree is definitely a good idea. And the wine selection is excellent, with something to suit every taste. The service is top-notch, and the prices are very reasonable. The ambiance is comfortable and inviting, and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped by for dinner Saturday night and it is hands down the best food we had ever had! We are foodies, we travel all over the country to find the best calamari and this is our number 1 place! We had the Opera salad, minestrone, seafood pasta dish, tiramisu, Maria dessert and wine! Even their water tastes amazing! I can’t wait to return and bring my friends over! A must!

All the food was extremely delicious. We made reservations and went on a pretty busy Friday night. The service and staff were great. The food is a little pricey but well worth it in the end.

The Capellacci di zucca is delicious! It's sweet with a little slice. Super delicious, highly recommend. I tried the lasagna as well, which was pretty good. I'd go with the Capellacci di zucca any time.

The food alone would make it 5 stars but it’s the staff that made it a instant classic in my book! The team members were not only professional but also catered to my young children. Made them feel special while the restaurant was super busy for dinner. Special thank you to Alex for being fantastic. Might be from the east coast but I know where I’m going to come back to eat on the west coast!

Like Cheer’s (Boston) only in real life. The food was phenomenal (butternut squash ravioli) and the Happy Hour menu was top notch. The bar tenders and waitresses were like family, and I swear they knew almost all the customers by name. The conversation at the bar was like sitting around a table at Thanksgiving. If you are in Long Beach definitely stop here, but I would encourage you to walk or call a ride cause you won’t be leaving after one pour.

We looked forward to the meal in the very chain centric Long Beach but we were met with a mediocre meal and forgotten about service from our waiter. My pasta funghi was overcooked, oily and way too salty. The Minestrone soup was just basic and forgettable. It's a nice setting with a fun dining space but not much else going on.

White table cloth dining experience with excellent food, service and ambience. Strong, delicious old fashioned served with block ice and house-made Caesar salad were great way to start. Entrees were delicious and warm, chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream was perfect way to finish. Highly recommend for special occasion for just a nice night out.
