Los Altos Grill reviews
20 Food was excellent, service friendly and attentive. Ate with a party of 6, and everyone gave a thumbs-up.
One issue is that they cannot accommodate groups larger than 6 without using adjacent booths.
Great meal, great service. Delicious French dip with fresh horseradish. $24 but the service is worth it.
We were extremely disappointed with the service we received at Los Altos Grill on July 4th. We were 5 adults and 2 small kids. We were the first group arrived at the restaurant. Cole was the host and told us we can't sit outdoor. We were fine with this, but when we asked to be seated at a large table, Cole then told us that there was no large table available. He proceeded to seat us at two separate tables, even though there was clearly enough room for us at the larger table.
We were already feeling uncomfortable at this point. Our food took over an hour to arrive, even though there were several empty tables in the restaurant. When our food finally arrived, it was cold and one of the orders was incorrect. We tried to speak to the manager about our concerns, but he was nowhere to be found.
We left the restaurant feeling discriminated against. We were the only non-white people in the restaurant, and we were the only ones who were seated at separate tables and given cold food. We are very disappointed with the service we received, and we will not be returning to your restaurant in the future.
I was there with a bunch of girlfriends for a friend's birthday dinner. The place in general is loud and we were having a good time. The manager walked upto us and asked us to keep it low, which was super annoying.
Also no options for vegetarians
Good food. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Good variety on the menu. Simple dishes done well.
The food was fantastic. I had the macho chicken salad. The service was a bit slow but otherwise good. Also, they need to get a Verizon repeater in the building. There is literally no coverage for Verizon users.
We made a reservation for lunch. There were many tables occupied and a 3-person walk-in group seemed to wait 10 min before being seated. We waited a few minutes for our table to be set-up as well. We were seated away from the main crowd. The inside of this restaurant has a feeling of Disney’s Great California hotel with woody interiors and pictures of bears and the outdoors. Ambience is 5 stars. Service was a 3. (It took forever for us to be noticed for water refill and getting the check). Food was between a 3 & 4. Macho salad was our favorite. The price differential between lunch and dinner mains was very small. I can see the bar being an attraction being the inner “circle” seating in the dining room.
The crispy chicken sandwich is a mess and doesn't really fit in with the rest of their menu. Didn't taste good. Was very heavy and overall, not recommended.
Nice place, but expect to wait an hour for a table, every day! After about 90 mins the chase you out so as to sit others at your table. The wait staff are arrogant. We sat down and had not even finished our salad before they dumped our main dish on the table. There are other places in town that treat you better.
Dip duo is a classic such a good appetizer! For dinner, I got the ribs and coleslaw and my wife got a Macho salad. Both were delicious!
Sit at the bar for great service and always entertaining people watching.
It's an entitled crowd. The food is pretty good. Bring back the blackened fish sandwich. The old school peanut slaw is much missed.
Got takeout from them last night. Called in the order 3 hours before pickup time. The receptionist who took my order was super friendly.
I go to pick up the food and the 2 ladies at the end of the restaurant were dry and lacked basic customer service. They didn’t address the questions I had. I looked at the list and all items were crossed off. I asked if order was complete and they assured me it was. I asked because the order was large and there didn’t seem to be enough bags. I trusted them.
I get home and sure enough, 25% of my items were missing. I live 50 min from the restaurant so going back wasn’t an option. Super disappointing. For the price they charge and the reduced portions, I would expect completeness of orders and better hospitality.
Los Altos standby for upscale American. The dip duo is excellent as is everything else I’ve eaten there.
Busy/loud restaurant. Food was good, service was good, prices were high or very high for everything.
Great food and drinks! This is one of our favorite restaurants for celebrations. Try the dip duo, you will love it!
4/2 - Unfortunately, they changed the cornbread to something that looks like large croutons.
I've been coming here for 20+years. My advice: Watch out for a server named Sid. He's extremely unpleasant and beyond RUDE. Apparently, my June 2019 run in with him was a "one time occurrence/has been addressed with him" according to the mother ship,
Hillstone, however, I still get **very** bad vibes from him. When we can successfully avoid his area, I'm a very happy camper. Food is excellent, drinks are excellent, service (except for server Sid) is excellent.
Pretty cozy and beautiful grill bar restaurant! Small list of food selections but top notch quality! I’d recommend getting their rotisserie chicken!
They have SUPER AWESOME coffee. Pair the coffee with their cornbread bites.mmmmm mmmmm good!
Great place but make sure you have a reservation and patience. We had to ask for out drink 3-4 times before it came. The bar is great but way too busy.
Local Los Altos restaurant that has completely lost its way. Expect service equivalent to an airport Chili’s, at best. Finally left after 1.5 hours on wait list when the staff told me 10-15 mins. Front desk staff is rude and dismissive. I’ve been a local customer for 25 years because I enjoy the consistent food, but for me, I’m done.
