I run a production company in New York and one thing I am big on is customer service. I've rented from this company in the past years back but now they have a lazy guy named Patrick who doesn't want to take an order over the phone. Then after you explain to him that he will be replaced by Artificial Intelligence if he doesn't take the order as there is no need for phone support (customer service) he reluctantly takes the order. He said he would send a quote - never did. I followed his grumbling instructions to complete an order online - still no reply and now when I call they don't answer the phone. What is disappointing to me is the owner probably doesn't know that these are the people losing business for his company. We are looking at other rental options now and it's probably better you save yourself the disappointment.

As a quick update I received a message back saying that due to my alleged 'criminal background' (which is over ten years ago) they are prevented from renting to me. My question is a) I run a production company and have worked with some of the biggest brands and names in entertainment so my background didn't seem to prevent that and I am fully insured where is the nexus? B) this should be stated clearly on the website because I want to let people like Martha Stewart and Steve Madden and countless other people who run companies that this company is discriminating against law abiding citizens with no nexus.c) it actually goes against their policy because you would think that someone carrying 5 Million insurance which I have plus $500K rented would not want to run off with a camera order but it shows you their poor thinking and business practices. And contrary to their assertion, I was incarcerated for failing to report traffic tickets (parole violation over ten years ago) they changed the law - struck it down but I already did the time which is why the New York Times did a story on me. You are taking this approach to cover for a lazy worker named Patrick who frankly will drive your business into a ditch by not following through. This is a waste of time and energy but what I will not stand for is discrimination or labelling me a certain way when I was assertive polite and legally entitled to get a quote. You will hear from the Attorney General's office and the Department of Justice. Your governor is ruining California with policy and you are discriminating against a business owner who served his time, and runs a successful company. Talk to the brands that hire me. Good luck.
