Lovely museum. Excellent exhibit on ham radio operations upstairs. Perfect for children especially scouts.

I grew up in San Pedro, the port of Los Angeles. Found the museum filled with a one of a kind history about how the harbor area & Terminal Island were built up, the ups & downs of the fishing industry. Ethnic groups (Japanese, Croatian, Italian, Hispanic), cultural life styles. Also great were the model ships & pictures of the Fisherman Fiesta.

It’s a small museum but still offers interesting history of the LA port. Parking is free and there’s a $5 donation you can give when entering. You can donate cash or use your card to donate in the gift shop. Museum is self tour. There are lots of boat models to see.

Nice place to visit with a good history of Los Angeles Harbor. Entrance fee is SUGGESTED $5 donation so pay as you want. I liked the Japanese culture with the Cannery exhibit. A small but mighty place near Port's 'O Call and Battleship Iowa.

I can't believe a museum of this caliber is just a suggested donation. I was blown away by the exhibit on the Terminal Islanders. It was so well done and imactful for such a small space. The sections on canning, the history of the building, and the kids area were also impressive. I would definitely go back as it seems they are continuing to make updates to exhibits

Fun little side adventure if you have an hour or so to kill. Lots of beautiful handmade models to see. Popped in here while awaiting our cruise.

I'm so glad this museum is now open! What an unexpected gem!

This was my first visit and is now a must-see stop on my travels.

If you enjoy photography, this has to be on your list. A lot of opportunities for closeup/macro shots and the building itself is super photogenic. My favorites were the fresnel lens from the lighthouse, the USS Nimitz (air craft carrier) model, the SS Poseidon model used in the original movie, the bunks/quarters found on Navy ships.you get the idea! There is a lot to see!
The people there are great, too. And it's a good location, with a lot of scenery.

I'm so happy places like this exist.
