Los Capitancillos Ponds reviews
2The Los Capitancillos Percolation Ponds are a wonderful place to view mother nature. There is an abundance of wildlife at the ponds and beautiful scenery to take in. There are several ponds that parallel Colman Ave and stretch from Almaden Blvd past Meridian Ave starting kitty corner from Almaden Lake. Great biking and walking opportunities at this location. Be sure and visit this beautiful location next time you are in the area. Winter is the best time to visit when the ponds are all full as they tend to empty by mid summer. Although for wildlife photography summer can be best for a wider variety of birds. There is usually some water in a few of the ponds year round.
A peaceful place to stroll. Very easy walking.
Unfortunately, there are many selfish dog owners who let their dogs run around unleashed. They’ve harassed the wildlife on several occasions. Just an FYI, Jeffry Fontana Dog Park is only a few blocks away if you want to let your dog run off leash!
