I really love Los Lavaderos and have been washing here for many years! However, I gave it only 3 stars because of something that I recently experienced and have experienced in the past. So first the good. This is a great place to wash if you are a man or a woman who doesn't mind getting stared at and made feel uncomfortable. I used to frequent the location in Vermont because I went right after work and it was on my way home. I never had any issues at this location, but parking was very limited so I was curious about the other locations. About a year ago, I started washing near my home on Melrose. This location has plenty of parking and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because of what happened to me yesterday and another time before. So an older man who likes to frequent the Melrose location, apparently to "hang out", sat right across from where I was drying and folding to stare at my behind as I was grabbing and folding my clothes from the dryers. I don't know what, but something told me to look back, and I saw him staring and licking his lips like he was really enjoying himself. I felt so disgusted and violated that I wanted to run away! But I still had clothes drying, so I just took a deep breath and gathered my thoughts. I decided it was not worth confronting the old man as it would have just made me more upset and caused a scene so I just grabbed my nearest clean sweater and wrapped it around my waist. I also moved all my clothing in a way so that I was hidden from his view and I could fold my clothes in peace and privacy. This is not the first time this has happened to me at this business location. A similar incident happened to me several months ago, most likely with the same older man. I was so upset last time that I stopped going to this location for a long time. I just recently started going back here to wash again, but after this incident, I don't think I'll be back. I did speak to the attendant on-site and let him know what transpired and how it made me feel. I also expressed that it's not right for the older man to be doing what he is doing, which is basically loitering at a business and harassing clients with his inappropriate behavior. The attendant was understanding and told me he would speak to the older man. I've actually met the owner of Los Lavadores several times and I know that he is a stand-up guy and very caring. He would definitely not allow something like this to happen on his watch. I really hope this is addressed as it makes women like myself uncomfortable to wash at this location.

The place is very good, it has a very large parking lot and the problems are resolved, there is very good customer service.

Every single washer and dryer speck and span, floors no trash, toilet very clean and the help is spot on.

Open 24 hours. This location is often busy but there are times it isn’t. I haven’t found a pattern. The machines have worked fine. The attendant is really helpful and nice. The bathroom is usually clean. It locks behind you. Best of all you can pay for your wash and drying with an app. You don’t have to bring a ton of quarters. There’s a bathroom that locks behind you. This location has a medium sized parking lot.

If I can give this place negative stars, I would. The worst customer service ever. I will also call to report this laundry mat. I have been washing here for the last year and have never had any problems until now. I did four loads here tonight 7/17 and had no problems. Until another person trying to do the laundry kept complaining that my clothes were talking too long. I can't control the speed of the washing machines. It's also not my fault or my problem if you don't arrive early enough to wash and all the washing machines are busy. I noticed the washer said it would be ready in two minutes and never finished. I reported the problem to the laundry mat person. And what he did was keep adding more fabric softener and water to the washer. It was still stuck at two minutes, but it continued to work fine after the two minutes it was supposed to. The guy kept bothering me about the washing machine and complained to the person in charge. The laundry mat guy's solution was to stop the washer and make me take out all my clothes so the other guy could wash. My clothes did not finish the wash cycle and were extremely wet and dripping with so much water as if I had thrown my clothes into the ocean and retrieved them from the ocean. So I go to the manger in the laundry room and tell him to come because my clothes were very wet and dripping a lot of water. He basically said that wasn't his problem and that it was my fault because I put too much fabric softener in it. I remind you that this manager came and kept adding water and fabric softener to my clothes and proceeded to blame me. Mind you, I know how to wash and I've been washing clothes for over fifteen years. It's common sense how much detergent and fabric softener you put in washing machines. I spent a total of $25 dollars washing that night and 7 dollars on the washer not working/finishing the cycle. I paid $7 for my load of laundry that wasn't washed properly and was soaked and the owner/manager couldn't do anything about it, not even put in another washer or at the very least give me my money back.for the washing machine that didn't work? Or even give me a free blow dry since he had my clothes taken, so the other guy who was bothering me could wash me. How is it my fault that these machines on this laundry mat are outdated and unmaintained? I told the manager what I was going to do with my clothes that were soaked and he didn't say anything, it's not my problem. Well, a lot of it is because it was dangerous to take all my soaked clothes out of the washer and put them in the dryer because someone might have fallen. All I asked was for the manager to put my clothes in another washer or give me a free dryer since the machine wasn't working.

I totally hooked up with some gangster that I met in the parking lot of this laundry. I mean, it was super hot! I wouldn’t go as far as to say that it’s a cruisey spot but it is open 24/7!

It's cheap and easy. There are also currency exchange machines and ATMs, and the staff will change 1 dollar to 25 cents. Convenient

The machines are old. A number of washers do not tell you how much time is left. The driers are terrible. I had to dry my clothes about 3 times.
