I am, without question, a gringo.

That being said I love my Mexican food. The more authentic, the better. That means a pozole rojo should knock your socks off. It should be deeply rich and thick and perfectly salted, come with plenty of toppings and whack that palate with spice like railway workers pushing spikes on its way down and linger for a few moments after swallowing, but not so long that you still hurt after a drink.

I have tried many Mexican restaurants since I moved to Sacramento, and have hesitated to leave a review because they have all left me wanting that taste of adventure that for me, a gringo, comes with eating truly authentic Mexican cuisine.

This place nailed it. Down to the core of it. What's more? I didn't hear any snide comments in Spanish behind the counter about me being too gringo for their food. No calls to water it down because my tongue can't handle the heat, and no weird dollop of sour cream because they're worried I might cry.

Immaculate service, I am so hungry and I uber eats food from here and it hasnt even arrived yet and I already know its going to be bussin. They called me to clarify about a special request I asked for TEN MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING. I didnt even realize they close so soon! I am sorry for ordering right when you were about to close but THANK YOU SO MUCH, yall are awesome and I absolutely loved the service. This is my first time trying it but I will definitely be back!

This doesn't really have much seating. It's really a mom and pop shop take out. Super Quality Food! Mole and the authentic cactus items are a huge draw. Slight tart and super healthy. I have learned cactus cam help regulate blood sugar. This is a must try at least once! Helpful happy people work to make your food.

I went in there at 9: 30 on a thursday really hungey. The guy who took my order was so nice and helpful! Food we very fast and very delicious! 5 stars for sure!

I thought I was ordering Birria tacos and if this is their version of Birria tacos don't get them. Soggy, nasty had tomatoes on it. It looks like steak tacos with no flavor

Their prices have gone up, they don't have some of their menu items. Place was empty on a Monday at 4pm. Thought I was in the wrong place because when you walk in it looks like an office. I ordered a quesadilla with carnitas. Comes with beans and rice. The quesadilla was a decent size but they put all the meat on one side then the cheese one side. It was pretty greasy too. The beans taste really watered down & the rice is a lil bit crunchy. Also ordered birria tacos. Came with 4 for $20. The barbacoa sauce didn't have any Cilantro or onions in it. They hardly had any drink options. I was really surprised that they didn't have the Mexican coca colas, those are the best.

Seriously, this place is AMAZING the Chile Relleno and its sause is sooo good its my favorite! I've never been let down by this place everything is awsome. Every time I order from here I feel like grandma cooked it for me and I'm the favorite grandchild lol. 10/10 please adopt me good.

I’m from Washington state and every time I’m in the area, I gotta make a stop by this place, the food is amazing and super clean and the staff is even better, love that it’s family owned and operated. The Camarones ala diabla fan favorite

I have been on a mission in Sac for the best street taco! This is the best taqueria that I have found so far out of about a dozen that I’ve tried. I was really pleased with prices as well, and even got an extra discount through Doordash when I ordered. I wish chips and salsa came with take out orders, and the pico needs some juice in the little containers, but that’s my only complaint. The quesadilla and tacos were perfection!

Pros: Great friendly service. Tacos under $ 1.89! Reg Carnitas Burrito was hugh, had it wet, tasty meat and enchiladas sauce. Clean tables & floors.
Cons: Plastic fork was flimsy almost broke making it hard to eat.
Worn doors & trim make it look like they need a little paint.

The beans and rice and salsa was really good but the mole sauce for sure is nothing like I've ever tasted before not a flavor I really cared for at all and didn't know it was short ribs with bone my first bite damn near broke my tooth lol

The person taking orders/charging gets the orders wrong. After placing two orders, we had the same issue. We paid for our food, he then says he did not charge for our drinks and there is no way to prove it since he writes everything down on a piece of paper and then charges you the total amount separately in a separate printed receipt. I asked him to retrieve the written note from the trash and he was able to see that he did indeed charge me for everything. A few minutes later, he also says he did not charge us for a plate that we were missing. Again, after checking the written note we found it as part of the order. Very unorganized and overall bad service. After getting our food, the carne asada tacos were extremely greasy and with a bad taste. The carnitas were dry and burnt, crunchy.

Best authentic Mexican food, good prices, clean, nice people #1 horchata in the world. Anything you try is going to be amazing. Ask for the oil salasa they keep it behind the counter.

I don't really leave reviews but this place is awesome.the flavors are awesome, the employees are super nice. Came to Sacramento for work and a co-worker and I got a couple burritos and nachos to share.was pleasantly surprised at how good and authentic everything tasted. The nachos were off the charts we were fighting for that last chip. Then I ended up moving close by and started getting the SUPER inexpensive tacos packed with flavor
Fell in love with the place and the inexpensive prices. I'm a single guy so for dinner on Christmas Eve I decided to order 3 street tacos (1 pollo 2 asada) and when I went to pick them up the gentleman at the counter said $4 I looked at him and told him I ordered 3 tacos and he told me it's Christmas just $4. Like I said great employees and awesome authentic flavors. It's one of those small hole in the wall places you won't forget.
