Los Olivos Wine Merchant & Cafe reviews
18Consistently tasty food in their restaurant over many years. Yesterday we shared a gnocchi dish made with spring peas and carrots, and a curried chicken salad. All the veggies were very fresh and the gnocchi was made on site. Lots of tasty choices on the menu.
What a great find. Food was tasty, service was great, and atmosphere was perfect. Had a pizza and was easy to share. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town. Highly recommended this one.
I have been visiting Los Olivos Wine Merchant for several years. On this occasion (5/2/22), I stopped by for lunch while taking a road trip to Monterey. There was musician playing the guitar. I sat at the bar and had the butternut squash gnocchi and a Cabarnet. The service was excellent as always. I highly recommend Los Olivos Wine Merchant.
Good service, maybe a little too many interruptions from waitress. Food is average. A bit on the noisy side when trying to hear conversation in our group.
Top notch dining and amazing wine selection. One of the few places where I've found fantastic Grenache wine. They're heirloom, arugula, and beet salad is amazing.
Fantastic yummy fun place in downtown Los Olivos. We had the gluten free pizza and salmon salad.and wine, Got to bring doggie Cruiser too, Red chair pic is at the lovely garden shop they have there on the corner. Also beautiful!
I had a simple but truly delicious turkey sandwich on ciabatta bread, service was great considering we arrived during busy lunch hours & the need for more servers every where!
Wonderful restaurant in the heart of Los Olivos. Flavorful Salads, ros and Wood fired pizzas. Extensive Wine selection from local wineries.
We were seated and waited for 30 minutes and were not even looked at. Everyone who was seated after us was at least given water. I understand a staffing shortage but to completely ignore patrons who were about to purchase a large dinner is unacceptable, especially considering that people seated after us were served.
Perhaps my favorite restaurant of the past two decades! Love the food and atmosphere and the wine selection is out of this world.
Best place in Santa Barbara County for lunch! The wine menu is superb. Best seating is at the bar. Diana and Keri are very friendly and professional!
So this rating app needs some way to differentiate between service quality of a place and food quality. The cuisine deserves a 5+ due to impeccable flavors, & presentation. The service on three different visits was sub par and disappointing. At the very least might a patron expect the offer of water and a menu within 5-8 minutes of being seated? And then how about a return to the table at select times throughout the meal to inquire whether everything is okay or something else is needed? Our initial server on the second visit was observed hanging about the bar - talking with other staff - and my attempts to catch their eye was frustratingly unsuccessful. We were extremely grateful toward the end of our meal to have a different server attend to us. Kudos and thanks to Lacei for attentively stepping in and efficiently taking care of us for the rest of our time there. Compliments also to the chefs. Extraordinary fare - but the ambience and service (except for Lacei) have not done justice to the cuisine and wines. I am hard pressed to convince myself to return or to encourage others to go, as the dining experience is heavily impacted by not only the food but by those who are serving it. I think perhaps it's a matter of training. An establishment doesn't have to be stuffy and pretentious to ensure excellence. Simply being conscientious and attentive goes a long way to communicating to the customer that their patronage is appreciated. Service matters. So 5+ stars for the food; 1.5 for restroom cleanliness and 2.5 for service, and that's being liberal. Perhaps others will have a different experience - and I hope so.
Great place. Always a good meal and wine galore. Corkage fee is insane, but I think I'm getting old and that the norm. (They want you to buy wine from their sister business next door which has a ton of good stuff. No corkage on that)
Great service and very good food. They were very accommodating of our group of six and three dogs. Definitely will go back.
Nice little place sitting on the street. Great atmosphere! The street is lined with wine tasting bars. Had a salad and it was good
Great spot. All I can say is I hope you love wine! The whole town is a wine lovers paradise. Very quaint/rustic Towne feel.
This lovely local eatery was the perfect spot for watching holiday festivities on a chilly night. Their beautiful patio was cozy & warm with overhead heaters—and is dog friendly! Excellent wine selection. Great menu with something for everyone.
